Be careful what you wish for. That decade of darkness was hell. We drafted high quality players for a long time before 29 and 97. We thought we had it made with Cogliano, Gagner, Pjarrvii, Lander, Omark, Dubnyk, Pouliot, Eberle, Hall, Yakupov, Benson. If you totally dismantle your team you can’t rebuild it with all kids. Not to mention no one has a crystal ball.

I believe if the front office and ownership were transparent with a plan to draft and build around the few young guys they have, that fans won’t stop buying season tickets. But if they continue this current path of scoffing at the thought of rebuilding, they’ll lose way more fans in the long run.

What might be happening is a GM or president is trying to please an owner instead of just doing what needs doing for the franchises future. Maybe the people don't know how to do a rebuild and their scared. Opportunity is knocking right now. Go get a shite load of picks a couple young guys to play and fill spots. Set up for atleast 2 drafting years fill the tank. Then after a couple years of drafting high rounders start putting the puzzle together. You have a goalkeeper and a young good Dman already. Build out from the net. Grab a big center men in the draft another big Dman and build. Peace ✌️ 😎. You want to be really good for 10 years min. Make that the objective.

Haven't listened to the whole podcast yet – but they (Leafs) are trying to repeat history. Remember, this happened before boys – Cliff Fletcher was GM, Doug Risebrouogh was the 'understudy' to him – Cliff Fletcher left to join the Leafs as GM (Treliving) and Risebrough(Conroy) took over as GM for the Flames. Then Risebrough and Fletcher made a historic trade that changed both franchises – one for the bad (Flames) and one for the Leafs (good). Leafs getting McCoun, Gilmour, Wamsley Flames getting Manderville, Leeman (loser), and Leafs are expecting the same trade – they want Anderson and Coleman and Weegar and who knows maybe Wolf, and they want you to take horrible salaries back to pay for it. If you don't do the trade – then you aren't playing ball. 😉
