San Jose Sharks Face MASSIVE Roster Crunch, Mike Grier’s Next Move Looms LARGE?

San Jose Sharks face a looming roster crunch as Will Smith nears his return and Michael Misa’s ELC contract clock ticks down. Which young stars will stay in the lineup, and who could be on the move? JD Young highlights the impressive play of Igor Chernyshov, Macklin Celebrini, Zack Ostapchuk, and Pavol Regenda, as they debate tough decisions the front office must make as injured players like Vincent Desharnais and Shakir Mukhamadullin get healthy.

Alex Wennberg fuels confidence with a massive scoring week, validating his contract extension and emerging as a key piece for the Sharks’ depth. The episode breaks down why San Jose consistently struggles against the Vegas Golden Knights, focusing on defensive lapses and playoff-style hockey maturity. 1. Smith ,Celebrini Graf
    Kurashev, Misa, Chernyshov
    Eklund, Wennberg, Regenda
Goodrow, Ostapchuk, 12th position is swappable with Regenda if filled with toff but is open for Reaves or Dellandrea.
That's the 14 forwards id roll with and then 2 tendies and 7 defense
I'd dump Leddy first then Klinger then Lili in that order. Those are the weakest links I've seen. There's nothing kliger has done for us that can't be down with orlov as weve witnessed and Dickinson should begin getting 2nd PP time anyway.

  2. I hate to say it, but maybe sell on Regenda while his stock is up? Send him and (please for the love of god) Leddy with a pick to NJ for Hamilton

  3. my takes:

Chernyshov and Regenda are NHL players.

    Nick Leddy is Nick Leddy.

Tyler Toffoli needs to step up his goal scoring.

Skinner, Klingberg, Leddy should be primary trade options. Kurashev, gaudette should stay

  4. This year feels like 1993. Detroit was like Vegas that year. The Sharks coukld not beat the Red Wings during the regular season. In the playoffs the Sharks lost some blow out games 9-5, then won others 3-2. In the end it was a Sharks 4-3 series win upset!! The Sharks are building, enjoy the process.

  5. Regenda can currently go to the AHL without being exposed to waivers.

    From the NHL:

"In order for a player to be assigned to the minors, they must first clear waivers unless one of the following applies:….

The player already cleared waivers, and since then has not:

played in 10 or more cumulative NHL Games, or

been on an NHL roster for 30 cumulative days."

Regenda was up on 12/1-12/4 and from 12/30-1/13 (so has been up 19 days at most) and has played in 8 games.

So, as long as he doesn't play in 2 more games and gets sent down before the 23rd at the earliest, he won't be exposed to waivers.
