  1. Stars fan, grew up watching this guy and those wings teams. Incredible player. Loved watching you play, Sergei. Congrats

  2. What a time to be a Red Wing fan. The skill of the Russians, the heart of Yzerman and a roster full of future hall of fame players.

  3. There will never be a scenario like what the Red Wings did to get the Russian 5 again in sports. It's truly insane how they actually pulled it off, and even more insane to see all 5 on the ice at the same time. What a special team/ time in the history of sports ❤

  4. It's about time ,Federov's # 91 should've been hanging in rafters years ago regardless of how left Detroit . He is and always will be a Redwing

  5. Thank you, Sergei! You were truly a legend that had done so many amazing things for the Red Wings. Even though it was before I was born when you had the Stanley Cup dynasty with the Wings, I have always admired you as an outstanding player who led a team that no one could outmatch. Your work has been an inspiration for all of Detroit and it is a legacy that will last forever. Congrats Sergei, on having your number retired with Detroit!

  6. We THANK YOU Sergei ! Sad part ….., Chris isn't his Dad ! Like he needs more money ! My money is a good bitch slap on the side of his head , when he see's his daddy again .

  7. So many great memories of those days. One of the fond memories I have of my dad. He loved the Red Wings so much and was so happy when you guys won the cup. Thank you for being part of those cherished times.

  8. It was such an honour to have you, and your countrymen, come to play hockey in the NHL.
You are truly one of the greatest players to have ever been in the league and you have given us so many wonderful hockey memories.
    Congratulations on this honour.
You deserve it so very much.

  9. Thank you, Sergei Fedorov, for helping my favorite team win the Stanley Cup so many times during your time here in Detroit, and to cement the team in my heart.

Thanks in no small part you, I got 4 Stanley Cups. You weren't here for all of them, but if you weren't here I wouldn't have got all of them.

  10. I'll never forget when he defected. Thank you for your exceptional play. And the class act you are. There will NEVER be a line like the Russian Five.

  11. The golden age of Hockeytown and Red Wings hockey just happened to overlap with my childhood and for that I'm thankful. Love Sergei Fedorov; think I watched every game of his Red Wings career. At his peak (93-94 season) haven't seen anyone better on both ends. Problem is, Sergei always left me feeling like he could do so much more and the numbers are proof of that. Yes his value was 2 way but outside of 93-94 his numbers are quite pedestrian. For that I'm not completely sold that 91 belongs in the rafters next to the prolonged, elite greatness of 19 and 5.

  12. I’m so happy to see him back in the fold as part of the Wings family. Best all around player I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching.

Thank YOU, Sergei, for years of great memories. Those years are still special to all of us too.

  13. Thanks Sergei. Met you the first year in an elevator in New Jersey while on a business trip. You were glad to talk to me after recognizing you, but you had this crazy like California surfer way of talking. I asked your teammate why you talked like a surfer dude & he laughed & said you were watching too much tv & picking up this accent from all the shows you were watching trying to learn English
I read a good book called "Behind the Red Line" about a Harvard college player that went over to Russia to play a year with the National Team. He got to the first practice & was amazed how hard the team practiced & was ready to throw up & was shocked to see not one water bottle on the bench. He said in the book there was one young guy on the team that skated without effort & never slowed down. He said the player looked like a greyhound skating out on the ice. That player he later found out was you.
Later at the Troy hockey rink I had the pleasure of being on the ice with you & a some senior hockey players & a couple of Red Wings during the NHL strike. You were just casually skating around & came in on me trying to play defense & I'll never forget I looked one way & you had already zoomed past me like a breeze – LOL. Congratulations on all your accomplishments & induction tonight.

  14. One of the GOAT's. If he didn't play around a bunch of hall of famers he could have scored as many goals as anyone. However, he is a champion and one of the greatest all around players ever. He is like a video game creation!
