As the coach, and or GM, someone is losing their job.
NHL – why lie about this? Chicago is one of the few stadiums where there isn't room for the backup goalie on the bench so they sit back there. The issue was that Hofer was not ready to come into the game. It isn't clear why he wasn't ready but to say that Binner refused to come out is a flat out lie.

At the end of it all though, you kinda gotta respect Binnington for not wanting to switch with 7 minutes left (which is utterly ridiculous. No logic in switching goalies at that point), and owning the loss instead. Especially with a 5 goal deficit they wouldn't be coming back from no matter what since the guys out front weren't performing, defense OR offense.

This is very unprofessional of both goalies. This is a team sport and the coach has the final say not the goalies. If I were the coach I would bench Bennington and fine hofer for conduct detrimental to the team. Very disrespectful to your team coach and teammates. I also would take Bennington off of team Canada.
