Luke should have been scratched after the Carolina game. Team has checked out at the half way point. Management and the coaching staff needs to go. Marky should retire. I'm not terribly impressed by Blake, Poile or Francis as GM candidates. I think Ownership would be better off looking at assistant GM's that are maybe being held back by an established one, such as Brandon Pridham in Toronto. I'd rather hang on to Fitz for the rest of the season and then snag someone like a Pridham in the off season.

I've personally checked out on the Devils 2 years ago. Forget about the sport of hockey for a moment. Think about how building sports teams work in general. In the NHL, NFL, NBA, teams are built in a fairly similar manner. Managing the cap, building with young players, etc… It doesn't take a genius to see that the Devils are stranded in no mans land with an absolutely garbage general manager. We are a team staring down a long rebuild that was never even built to begin with. So I just want to extend my sympathies to the FANS and people who CARE! Because they do care. They watch every game and actually believe the Devils might go on a run ! Its actually sad how delusional some became over these past few years. Being sold Dawson Mercer propaganda til the cows came home ! I also feel bad for people like yourself who cover this team. God bless you.
