What do you think about the Zamula trade? 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank You Jason for all your input on Flyers Daily your super so glad you are on the the mend from your cancer diagnosis keep positive and going forward you will over come it!! So happy for you and You and your family have a Happy New Year and ….Let's go Flyers 🧡🖤
Errson is not inconsistent, he is what he is.
He's the same goalie that lets in a killer goal regularly.
Calgary did play great the other night, but 4 goals against on 14 shots is unacceptable. Ersson rarely gives this team a chance to win. I actually think Sam is actually very consistent, consistently bad.
You HAVE to let him walk. We keep going over this idea that he's "not fully developed yet" or some bullshit notion. Jason, Sam is just not a good goalie and the numbers PROVE that during his Flyers tenure. Say what you will, but Vladar never let in this many bad goals, as consistently, as Sam has during his time here. No goalie in the league during the last 4 years has let in as many soft goals as Sam. It's just the sad reality. He's not very good, he's not going to get better, and we need to really start looking at starting Kolosov. Like we have no choice at this point. Come the off-season, please, please, please let Sam walk and we can look elsewhere. It's time. I've had it with Sam.
I think if Ersson continues to struggle they would bring *Kolosoft up before bringing in someone from the outside.
*Spelling intended. I will never like this guy.
For those of you who know me, there are times I have big open disagreements with some media professionals. However, these are people I have met in person and we both respect that our opinions are different and we respect each other's opinion. I still think the Flyers miss the 2026 playoffs. I agree that there will be a huge trade in 2026 that no one saw coming. That just seems to be the way that Danny works with trades.
Selfishly I love flyers after dark, because alaska is 4 hours behind east coast.
Hey Jason, hope you're well. I'm a relatively new hockey enjoyer but I've been following the flyers closely for about three years now. This year watching the way they play when Ersson is in net v when Vladar is in net is very different. It just seems to me that they just play better with Vladar in net. They seem more confident and play harder, win more against the boards. When Ersson is on the ice I feel like they get less confident and feel like they are playing expecting to lose. Also they just seem a little sloppier with Ersson in net. I've seen Ersson make some spectacular saves but and watching this game it almost felt at times like the defense just wasn't pulling there weight. Let me know what you think big dawg. I've developed a great love for watching hockey and this podcast and others like it have taught me a lot so thanks!
About Ersson—I remember a couple of years ago when journeyman goalie Mike McKenna wrote about his concerns on the Flyers' usage of Felix Sandstrom. He said his experience as a backup trying to get established in the league was that confidence is so important, but the coaches always set these goalies up for failure. AV, Yeo, and Torts all made Sandy play the wrong end of back-to-backs and surprise! he lost 6 of his first 7 NHL games. So, here we have Vladar, whom we praise for his ability to hold down goals against to two or less, going against the Canucks and getting four goals in support (not counting the two EN tallies). It really feels to me like Ersson wins games when the team gives him goal support. When you know you're going against Dustin Wolf in the second game you can see you need your low goals-allowed guy.
I'll go along with McKenna here. If this usage pattern doesn't change they'll break Ersson's confidence and prevent him from coming up to his potential.
I enjoy your podcast Jason

Welcome to the “Sam ERROR-son Apologist Show” starring JASON MYRTETUS!
Jason I love your updates so much. I love how realistic you are but also optimistic. I'm feeling emotional today because I got to see the flyers in Calgary and in Edmonton and at both games I met some awesome flyers fans, and even got a laugh out of TK over the sign I brought. What a great team and community this is, I actually almost cried when I got back to my hotel room because I won't be seeing the team irl again 😂 (I'm a little tired) anyway, awesome game in Edmonton today and awesome goal 1st from barkey
