Ownership and the GM have lost the players, too many years of poor moves by Fitz and no support when trying to get into the playoffs late in the season. Nothing is going to change under Fitz.
You lost 9-0 to Islanders yet nothing changes. I can’t wait to boo the whole team, management and owners! If Lou was GM, Keefe would not be speaking, Marky , Palat and Hamilton would all be gone. Realistically Fitz should be gone.
They should make some changes, at least sit some guys, but because the standings aren’t out of reach yet they won’t change anything right away even with awful play. When the ownership group first took over the Washington Commanders they waited a long time until the off-season to clear house and start fresh. I imagine they would do the same here especially considering the injuries, they might give even more leeway. For now we just have to endure.
Correct Sheldon, options are limited due to your bad GM. Here are two things you can change now = #1 play Jake more than Marky #2 the next PP you get, start it with the second unit in hopes that it sparks something. You have nothing to lose, and right now PP1 is struggling mightily.
This team needs to dig deep like when we were down 0-2 against the Rags in '23 and won 4-3. This isn't who we are, beat the piss outta the Pens tomorrow!!
Keefe, throughout your tenure there were many times where the backups should have played. Hopefully going forward Markstrom is not looked as a #1 that can start any game he wants. He hasn't earned it. That is over. In regards to what Allen said about leaving a goalie in for 9 I know he didn't like it but I really don't care. A message was sent to the GM and I am glad it was. Markstrom should never have been given the extension. As for Brown he said some proper things but it should never have gotten to this. I have no problem with Brown being here. As for others I do have a problem with them. One of those people would be our GM that put this mess together. Fire Fitz.
Trade/sell Hamilton and hope his rep can still warrant a dollar return. Palat also needs to go. Markstrom is a tricky one, isnt he on something like $6million for 2 years? A goal tender is only as good as the team in front of him. We need a solid goalkeeper though. 9 past you should warrant a vacation for a couple of weeks at most. Im fed up of the butt hurt with the devils at this time of the year for as long as i can remember.
This team lacks consistency and power. And I thought that after the 0-4 defeat against Tampa, the team had realized the seriousness of the situation. I was wrong!
