  1. Good win all around. Wennberg had a strong outing. This game showed why Ned should get more starts. Askarov is still a rookie basically, as he's calder eligible, so there is no reason to ride him like the sharks have been doing. Ned is still a capable goaltender. I was a little worried that Celebrini's point streak would come to an end, thankful he got that empty netter to keep it going. Ostapchuk's goal was a very nice effort, picking up the loose puck, skating through all those players and burying it. We've now got a 3 way tie between the california hockey teams, with 45 points each, and a chance to surpass one tomorrow in Los Angeles. Let's get it!

  2. CBJ looked better than some games this year, but holy hell is the defense a problem. Jet hung out to dry on almost all those.

  3. After Macklin took a stick to the face and fell down the Jackets coach was yelling at the ref that Macklin just took a dive for embellishment. Falling down or not is not going to change the jackets player still hit macklin in the face with his stick.

  4. Ривз и Оливье – это уже заслуженные мастера спорта кулачных боев. У этих парней образцовая хоккейная драка

  5. For an undrafted player Jet Greaves looks like a decent goalie prospect. Hopefully he has a Dustin Wolf type career. Both goalies were viewed as too short and small so they fell. I would want Greaves way over the way overpaid Elvis.

  6. Reeves was pretty wobbly getting up after that, was surprised he actually returned to the game.. Props to Olivier for hanging onto him as he went down.

  7. The crowd pop on the third goal was hype. Looked like the boys were about to fall apart before that goal.

  8. What Grier did with Alexander Wennberg is favored to just waste cap room. Giving out a contract like that is for teams who think they are a legit cup contender who should easily win at least 1 round in the playoffs. Even winning only 1 round still would not make it worth it. There is nothing that shows the sharks are that good. Even if the sharks become that good Grier could still have traded him and just signed him in free agency as a compromise. Grier could have got a late first or 2 2nds for Wennberg.

When teams do expensive moves just based on hope for most of them it is foolish. When Grier signed both Toffoli and Wennberg as the worst team there was little to no chance they would be a legit cup contender no matter how well either played. Those were moves a team that just won 1 round or more in the playoffs should give. Some sharks fans who do not understand the salary cap said Grier did that to reach the cap floor but it is easy to reach the cap floor without doing that. I think both are good players but the team has never been a legit cup contender the whole time both have been on the team.

When Grier traded for Walman that was fantastic for a rebuilding team. Grier got a 2nd rounder even if Walman was awful which he wasn't. Plus Grier got even more trading him again. When Grier traded for Duclair and retraded him for prospects that is how you reach the cap floor and still get stuff back. I would be happy to say I was wrong if the sharks win 2 rounds or more in a single playoffs in the next 3 years but if it does not happen my points remain. There is tons of other teams that do hope moves where there is no proof the team is good and it ends up being a disaster. Just like meaningless wins hurt tons of teams who are not legit cup contenders.
