Do The Flames Have Anyone Who Can CHANGE The Franchise?? | FN Barn Burner

Boomer, Pinder and Rhett dive into a deeper conversation about the Calgary Flames prospect pool and whether any of these kids are actually difference-makers. Pinder thinks the organization has a handful of solid “B” prospects, while Rhett pushes back — wondering what that really means if none of them project as true No. 1 guys. Do the Flames have future stars coming… or just some nice players? It turns into a really good back-and-forth on what Calgary actually needs.

  1. I am not a big fan of Pinder takes as he can sometimes talk down to people. But my god…what does Rhett want? A prospect is a prospect because you have no idea. His takes the last few days have been awful and contradictory to his own takes at times

  2. I think Rhett is making a good point. Don't over value your personnel. Don't overvalue your assets. Don't hang on to Andersson while other people move assets and leave you in a Hanafin postion at the deadline.

Also, Parekh wasn't "graduated" to the Flames. He can't play in the AHL. So he has to sit in the press box and play the occasional game. I'd send him back to the OHL for a playoff run. Play meaningful games. It's better than watching from the box.

  3. Only way to fix the franchise is move the Flames out Cowtown, maybe to the Hobbema Indian reserve. That way will still live up to Cowtowns culture and moto '' She ain't a lady, unless she is 380lbs'' and unlike Flames fans only 80% of the fans in the arena will be drunk! Rhett will get smokes tax free, win win for everyone lol!

  4. Asking for Pinders opinion and then yelling at him for giving his opinion, or just insulting him, is a waste of airtime dudes. I don’t know why Pinder puts up with the BS.

  5. Rhett if you don't like pinder don't show it on the Channel you look really dumb. Stop it Rhett

  6. UberDough is squad D from Police Academy

    Squad D for Dirtbags

Jonathan was supposed to be a “star”
    He’s paid like one.

  7. They think have a opinion different from each other makes for a good show but these guys are bone heads. They keep say dump the season trade our quality players then they will bitch about who we get for them. They just want drama the bunch of drama queens .

  8. Pinder sounds like every single Oilers fan during the decade of darkness talking about guys like Magnus Pajarvvi Svenson, Robert Nilson, Linus Omark, and Jesse Puljujarvi….. but but but we have a top 10 prospect pool!!! There's only one way to get the top end talent boys and you already said it in this video… Gonna be a longgggggg time before the Flames compete because they refuse to bottom out. Murky middle for life!

  9. Flames might get McKenna but it's still more than a one year rebuild. Stop fooling ourselves. McKenna alone doesn't fix the Flames. Lots of holes in the lineup. May have the goalie but two scoring lines and a proven stud defensemen are needed to win.

  10. I think both of them are right. The Flames don’t have a guaranteed superstar in their system, but Pinder is right that they have a lot of solid pieces.

You need both to win championships, not just 1 A+ prospect.

  11. Dustin already changed the franchise. Parehk is A+. WTF is wrong with Calgary media!? Clearly nobody in Calgary is capable of properly assessing talent 🙄

  12. A star McKenna is not. How much is luck? One thing I’d look at is heart, work ethic, desire and speed. Skill when soft is nothing

  13. Don’t get all the “Flames need to “tank” to get a top pick…” rhetoric. Like as if that is THEE solution? All we have to do is look up the road to the Oilers to prove that “tanking for a top pick” may not be the solution. Oilers (…maybe the biggest underachievers in sports history!) had three #1 picks IN A ROW, and four #1s in five years, and haven’t won a cup!? (Yes, of course, they’ve been finalists for the last two years, but as we all know, no-one really cares (or remembers) who came in 2nd!).

  14. Cullen potter has been heating up in college. 25 points in 22 games this year vs 22 points on 35 games last year, he is 5'10 though

  15. Rhett Warrener been in the locker room and the trenches that he would remember if any prospects we're going to be someone special.

  16. Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuk, Andersson. All were stars when playing at their peak, neither was a 1st overall pick, but all of them had talent and were given the opportunity to play. It doesn't matter where you draft but if you got a guy with talent you need to cultivate it by giving these players an opportunity to succeed. We never got to see the extended potential that the previous core had because right as they were peaking we got rid. That cannot happen again, but it needs to start by giving our young talented prospects a chance to shine.
