What’s the biggest issue with the Winnipeg Jets this season?

The Jets have had a turbulent first half of the season going from the reigning Presidents’ Trophy winner to dead last in the league, and the questions keep building after Winnipeg’s general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff didn’t have any answers after he met with media on Monday. TSN Hockey analyst Martin Biron joins SC with Jay Onrait to share what he thinks the biggest issues are for the Jets, and if he thinks this group can climb out of the basement or if it’s time to shake up the roster.

  1. Camel toes, camel toes…. camel toes.
Picking up that loser as a second line center was a huge mistake.
He cant skate, cant shoot, coughs up the puck often.
A shell of what he was 8 years ago.

  2. Basically, they had to be in a buy now mentality to keep butts in the seats because of this fragile Winnipeg market and now they’re gonna have to start planning for tomorrow this is what they didn’t want to face but now have to.

I hope fans realize the team being in the city is on trial right now and you have to show up to the games regardless if the team is in rebuild mode, but I’m likely yelling this into the sky 😂

  3. Anyone that thinks this season is anything other than a scrimmage is delusional.
The Jets have a chance at a potential Yzerman, maybe a Sakic, possibly a Lecalvalier. A true superstar, a record breaker, a franchise player that will look like he's earning the $20mil paycheques.

As a Fan, you are out of your mind not to be excited about the masterclass on Tanking the Jets are serving right now.

  4. Draft 22 Swedes and change the name to "Winnipeg Gripen". That should do the trick.

  5. Winnipeg should rebuild now. Here's why. It's all about timing. Colorado, Dallas and Minnesota are in their peaks and in a couple years from now will start declining. By that time all the teams in the central will be in the basement rebuilding while the Jets would in their peak and runaway with the division every year just liked Edmonton is doing now in the Pacific (VGK after cup win has been downhill since, ANA, LAK, SJ, VAN, CGY, SEA all rebuilding so EDM gets the easy pass to the CF every year as the only team in their peak). Winnipeg should draft McKenna or Stenberg and start the rebuild. Trust me, I know hockey.

  6. Barron is a workhorse, he deserves what perfetti is gifted every night. Terrible system theyre trying to work. Stanley scores more goals jumping in the play! I feel like nobody cares. Tank they say

  7. Well I asked myself that question last week. Truth be told I haven't watched any Jets games this year because they are blacked out for me, but looking at their schedule for December told me that regardless of how the team was playing they were given a rough month. Not only were they up against a lot of the best teams in the league, they also managed to lose to almost all of the weaker teams and honestly, January looks pretty rough too.

  8. Lack of depth scoring has been a big reason the Jets find themselves dead last in the NHL and unlikely to see playoff action this season.

  9. The Jets are broken. The confidence of the team is gone. They need to reset and focus on next season.

  10. Jets need a high draft pick star now because the aging star core we have will only get worse and I don't think Perfetti, or any Jets prospects can carry this team in the future.
