Godammit the leafs are gonna do it again.
They're gonna suddenly play balls out to get into the playoffs, then in the playoffs they'll turn into a pumpkin, and then on the sidelines a much more interesting team who happened to have a harder schedule is just annoyed that they wasted everyone's collective time.

Steve, Matthews is supposed to be either the 2nd or 3rd best player in the entire NHL. I have him 3rd behind McDavid and MacKinnon. So lets compare to his peers. Prior to last night, Nathan MacKinnon had 5 goals and 8 assists in his last 4 games. That's more than 3 points per game on his run after Christmas. The game prior to Christmas he had a goal and an assist, so that 15 points in his prior 5 games including 6 goals. MacKinnon is just doing it far more consistently than Matthews. They are both great though.
