The theory is that a team needs 3-4 studs to win a cup. Hopefully one of those is the goalie. The Habs have Suzuki, Caulfield, Slav, Hudson, Demidov and possibly Fowler! They need some bangers to protect the studs. At the trade deadline I would go after Olivier in Columbus. He bangs, fights and is not a liability when on the ice. Xhekaj on defense needs more reps because he is a banger who makes forwards be cautious in our zone. The Habs are close, maybe not this year but definitely next year.
Dach coming back will help the first line. He is big and can get pucks to the studs.

putting dach back on the first line when he returns makes so much sense. dach plays and has a similar size as slaf, and has produced really well before. slaf being a play driver really saves the habs from overpaying for a 2c. the danault trade was so smart as well. he was a face-off machine vs dallas.l
The defence also drives lots of offence we all know about lane but Dobson with his shot especially that he has that the other d don’t is causing problems for the other team and he is only going too get better as he gets use too new system and players.
Today I was thinking about the team. They are having a great year so far. Despite a decent amount of injuries, a huge drop in performance from their number 1 goalie (to the point we could question his future in the league), 8.7 mil (9.1% of cap space) for a player we don’t really know how to use when he is healthy, the overall result is really encouraging.
We talked ad nauseam about the need for a 2nd line center, but Kapanen is doing a great job so far. Hage and Zharovsky are developing, so the biggest need (if the goalie situation is finally stabilized) is a big player for the 1st line. After Adams got fired from Buffalo, I started to dream a little bit about Alex Tuch. But now that they got that 10 games winning streak, it’s less likely they would trade him. I also don’t know how much money he wants per year.

Slafkovsky must be defended by several defenders, then he passes to free Demidov, and if they don't do it, Slaf scores a goal.
The defensive numbers can only get better with Guhle returning. With Carrier and Struble getting fewer looks the numbers will get better as well.
Habs are considered one of best teams in league. Injuries NON STOP and still in the mix for the playoffs

Need to get someone for the first line. Kapanen is awesome, most of you guys need to start respecting kaps. He does alot to drive that line. 13 gls over 20 pts without little pp time
