It’s rare that I come away from a Winnipeg Jets press conference feeling incensed, but what the Jets offered fans today was nothing short of a disgrace. From side-stepping serious questions about the performance of the team, to offering no clear vision or plan, it was 40 minutes of agony. What on earth was Winnipeg thinking? Is there any sort of plan for this team to succeed going forward? How could you follow a miserable loss to Ottawa with this sort of conference? Will the upcoming Jets homestand see jerseys thrown on the ice?

I do not know why everyone are so unhappy with the press conference. Every single one wanted this season to be tanked? Cheveldayoff practically told us it will be tanked -)
Gavin McKenna doesn't look all that great to me. I'm not saying he'll be a 'bad player, not at all – but McKenna is no 'savior of a franchise' lol. He's more of a 'support' player for a real star IMO. The 'second' banana – the "Brian Mullen' to a "Dale Hawerchuk"
I hate a Chevy press conference as much as anybody, but there's not much he can say at this point. He knows they're done this season but can't say it outright. He also can't say "our veterans are garbage."
He should be willing to put young guys in the lineup though. That's the main thing that annoys me.
I'm not sure what to think. I want to see the team tank for the rest of the season, and that seems to be what he's doing. I don't think he deserves another shot to run it when things get better though. I doubt Chipman will fire him regardless.

That press conference was a masterclass in wasting everyone’s time. The GM strutted in with a grin like he’d just solved world hunger, then planted himself there to deliver what can only be described as a tragic performance of hollow monologues. Honestly, someone should’ve just handed him a pillow and told him to keep napping — he clearly wasn’t awake for this one. Professionalism? Please. This was nothing more than a clumsy attempt to justify collecting a paycheck.
We need to make a clean cut and start a real rebuild — with young, hungry players and a few experienced veterans, just like the Ducks or Canadiens are doing. Players like Scheifele, Hellebuyck, and Lowry should lead the young, fast guys. As a Jets fan, I’d gladly accept a few tough rebuilding years for that. The way things are going right now is just plain frustrating.
Definitely a joke jets need to tank and maybe trade off one of their D man for assets or draft pick
I watched that presser and came away relatively unimpressed by his responses. It seems as though he wanted to duck accountability as much as possible. He no doubt failed because the results of the team that last offseason he put together are available for all to pore over. That last off-season was a disaster is why the Winnipeg Jets find themselves where they find themselves in the standings: dead last.
I have never ever seen a press confrence just apear out of nowere. He had 0 announcements, 0 plans 0 news and 0 questions awnsered. Danced around every question. He needs to be fired. There needs to be change. There is a direct correlation with the teams standing and how long chevy has been employed. Every coach and gm have a shelf life, and chevy is growing mould

Our Jets team is looking a lot like the football Jets that play in New York. Crazy how both Jets teams are both bottom feeders in their respective sports in the same year lol.
