I've been waiting for Kasper to have his chance again on the first line. Seemed to work well last year. I like Finnie, he's a great story but I'm still unsure why he's been our first line Left Winger all year.
So refreshing to have a coach that actually knows hockey and makes necessary changes. Calls out Raymond right after I did saying he had one goal his last 14 games. Todd went further and said he hasn't scored an even strength goal since November. Note Raymond has gone long stretches every season without scoring so it's not just a one year sophomore slump thing. And he's a big reason we haven't made the playoffs. Maybe it's time to trade him for someone that's more consistent.
Raymond hurt his shoulder earlier this season and everyone seems to think he magically got better with only missing a couple of games then continuing to play on it. If you look at his max shot speed recorded this year compared to last season and the season prior it is down by quite a bit. His shooting percentage is the worst it has been since his rookie season. He obviously isn't playing healthy at this point.
There’s a reason why the Copp line is doing better at 5 on 5. They’re shooting the puck on net. No fancy plays, less giveaways because they aren’t passing the puck a hundred times. Once debrincat has the puck he holds onto it till he shoots on net. The other lines do blind passes and hopes it works. I mean just watch the Avs play, it’s never pass, skate around, pass skate around. They always have a perfect tic tac toe play and score almost everytime.
So McLellan says the Copp Cat Kane is the top line, acknowledges that Larkin and Raymond have been awful – then demotes KANE off of the top power play? Kane, who leads the team in power play points per 60 and on-ice goals for per 60 since Todd took over? Kane, who since November 29 is leading the team in on-ice goals for per 60 by a gigantic margin? When Kane went out 6 games, his forward line stopped scoring. And started giving up goals. Yet he apparently gets no credit for the line's performance. It is apparently 1-man line. Which is odd, bc DeBrincat had 15v5 point, no 5v5 goals, and was a minus at 5v5, in the 6 games Kane was out.
Larkin Raymond and Seider have been screwing up the power plays. Kane hasn't even touched the puck on most of them. When he has, he's done the right thing and made danger – as he always does. He's the best power play guy on the team by a lot. Raymond and Larkin have been ABYSMAL at 5v5 for over a month and it has carried over into their power play work. They were also imo trying to straight up sabotage the unit to achieve exactly this result – screw over Kane. They are bitter bc the Larkin Cat Raymond line got broken up and they got stuck w Finnie. So they take it out on Kane and sabotage him.
Kane took a line with Cat and ANDREW COPP and turned it into a monster line winning 14-1 in 12 games, with fantastic analytics. Maybe if Larkin and Ray had been able to do this when it's them and Cat they would have gotten to keep him. They didn't. They had great analytics but they barely won the scoreboard. As usual.
I hope Kane shoots every single time he touches the puck if he's stuck with those 4 guys who can't finish or set up. And I hope he asks for a trade by the deadline. He would be taking the team's only 5v5 line, the line that has been completely carrying them, with him if he left. I've seen the Leonard version. I've seen Cat with Larkin and Ray. None of it is winning 14-1 in 12 games.

Better pick it up boi's , solid efforts in the back to back but yas "GOTTA SHOOT THE FN PUCK " , LGRW 🐙
5 games in 8 days is rough no how you try to spin it… but you cant have guys disappear who are in the top 6
Larkins yearly meltdown came early this year. a real leader wouldn't fall apart when the team needs them most
PUT FINNIE ON A LINE WITH DANIELSON!
Raymond hasn't had an even strength goal since November? that's crazy
Team remains mentally weak. Physically weak.
Now the first line is a problem?

terrible audio with players, can hear everyone but the player.

1st line has been trash
Hey Ray , how about earning your PAY!!!!
Yzerman needs to figure out how to improve our team or let someone else do the job. Tired of years of inactivity from this bum GM.
Good questions to Todd – Q’s on individual players > “how important is a win for confidence”
Can we deploy some savings from Seider's contract to buy a directional mic?

God damnit I love Todd
Was hoping daniella would ask about new years resolutions again.

Happy to see the lines get juggled for abit. Larks and Razor haven't been playing well
