Everyone hollering about the bottom 6, that don't get enough ice time. This team keeps bringing in guys who've flourished somewhere else only to watch them tank. What's going on here?
System teaching? It implies we have one. Knoblauch's teaching is PURE CHAOS. Throw the puck and chase, that is all Knoblauch is teaching, no defense, no discipline, no passing schemes. So if you talk about 'the chaos theory', then yes, that was invented by Knoblauch!
every team in the NHL, from 32nd to the 1st, but the Oilers, has more discipline on defense, exits the D-Zone and transitions more disciplined and WITH PASSES. Oilers, pure chaos, panic, when our D-Men have the puck in the defense and throw it senselessly somewhere around the net or deep in the O-Zone.
His biggest mistake and what will likely cost him his job is hiring a bunch of coaches with little to no experience in NHL coaching. You don’t bring in newbs to coach a Cup contending team. You do that on a rebuilding team so everyone learns.
Bowman also needs to find a replacement for Ekholm on the top pair. He’s too old to make up for the Bouche Blunders and is too old to keep up with the young players. He’s perfect as a second pair or third but the hard first pairing minutes is too much for him.
The kid line didn't work out? YOU set them up for failure in the 3rd period by having them take a d-zone face-off when we were still only down by one. STOP placing the blame for your bad coaching decisions on the players – especially the young players. You did it with Philp and now you're doing it with Hutson, Howard, Savoie. When are you f'g going to learn what several coaches before you couldn't? And lost their jobs because of it. Stop playing McDavid and Draisaitl 25-30 min a game. This does not build team. And, that is the biggest problem. There is no team cohesion because you're playing favourites.
Rolling into the 2 1/2 year mark with Kris. Yup..it's about that time. The exact sweet spot moment on the calendar where we bring in a new coach. Might be time to plan that Mexico vacation early. I think the Perry Como behind the bench experiment has run its course. We now need Mötley Crüe back there to light the fire underneath the bottoms of the bottom 6.
In 1oo years the Canadians have had 28 Head Coaches average Tenure 3.57 years…. in 47 years the Oilers have had 23 Head Coaches average Tenure 2.043 years…..Canadians in 100 years have won 23 Stanley Cups – .821 Head Coaches per Stanley Cup…. Oilers in 47 years have won 5 Stanley Cups…9.4 Head Coaches per Stanley Cup…… just a little perspective for those who are out of focus right now….food for thought.
Couple small tweak's needed, passing drill skill building and D position solidification . Don't let media detractors intimidate you to second guess strategy Kris , be bold , or they will push you into getting replaced . Don't allow that nonsense , season is more then still absolutely salvageable so don't get leveraged out by accident bud.
Ingram in for next game , keep both guys limber , till Tristan could be a potential again , don't let either get cold hands and feet , share ice time so they keep skills sharp . Max Jones back up

Oilers are not set up to succeed for the ultimate goal! So weak right now!
fired
Is Jim the only reporter there or no one else has questions.
This coach is no builder……can’t believe he is still coaching.

The only one that needs to increase the “intensity” is the coach.

Bye Bye 97. So sad 😢
Hire Peter Laviolette or John Tortarella. Paul Coffey would be a great defensive coach. Demote Bowman and Jackson to selling beer in the stands.
Boooooooooooooooooooooo
Players are going to get him fired…
Fire this guy
Imagine hearing a speech from this guy. It would put you to sleep instead of pump you up.
