SAN JOSE SHARKS HAVE SIGNED ALEX WENNBERG TO A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION

The San Jose Sharks have signed Alex Wennberg to a three-year contract extension worth $18 million. Wennberg should be the Sharks’ third-line center for the foreseeable future when Michael Misa is ready to take over the second-line center job.

  1. I was hoping for two years, we are going to have a log jam in centers, regenda, bystedt, ostapuk fighting for that 4c position next three years.

  2. Great deal! There's a small part of me sad that we aren't getting a 1st for him this year, but he needs to pipe down.

  3. I’ve been hoping for this. 3rd year could be minority problematic eventually but I think it’s overall very worth it

  4. Imagine paying 6m for a 3rd C 💀
Just cause we play him at 2C doesn't make him a 2C. I think resigning him is good as he can play up and down the lineup. It shows the team that we're committed to our guys and done selling BUT 6m for a 0.5 ppg player is bad not to mention we'll need the cap for Defense and to sign the young guys to 8yr contracts.

  5. Good contract but it kind of blocks bystedt. Wonder if that means sj will be trading him
