i really did think tomasino was going to ask to have his contract terminated before the trade. Same with Heinen since the bulk of his salary was already paid out in bonuses. The reality is that they both (Zamula/Tomasino) cleared waivers. Is that because they make too much? Zamula wants to play in the NHL but no one seems to want to pick that $1.7M up? If he terminates, the pens get the $$ back and he can sign a deal closer thats probably closer to $1M.

Yea but penguins give up a 24 yr old forward to a rival for literally nothing so it’s not exactly win win
