  1. Here's the thing, we're on track to tanking and hopefully land a 1st OA, but with these returns I promise you management is gonna try to push for the play off and maybe finish just outside the playoff line again just to land a 12-15 overall pick and miss out on a generational talent. I understand the reason but damn bad timing to do this.

  2. we did good.here. 3 first rounders and an unprotected 1st round pick this draft. ohgren will take kanes spot. buium will pair up with hronek. rossi is our 1C or 2C and cootes 3C, raty 4C. if they can get a 1st for sherwood and garland. the rebuild is on and i don't think it will take as long as ducks or sharks. same timeline as chicago?

  3. From an outsider.. Just do the tank properly, Buium is going to be really good and that 2026 first rounder will probably be 15-20 since the Wild will have to play Dallas or Colorado in the first round.

  4. Im devastated man. Hughes was by far my favorite player on the Canucks for so long. I got a limited edition jersey autographed by him which i was very lucky and excited to receive..

  5. Hughes recently snubbed two engagements he agreed to be at and his father hates Vancouver. Imagine telling your kids "we're going to meet Quinn Hughes" only for him to not show up.

  6. From a Minnesota Fan, you’re welcome for 3 solid young players with lots of upside. Marco “Not A Bust” Rossi is only 24, Zeev Buium has been a pretty good so far for a 20 year old rookie, and a 21 year old Liam Ohgren. They certainly have lots of growth opportunity out in the PNW where they weren’t getting much of a chance here in Minnesota. The pick for 2026 draft could be anywhere from around 15 up to 32. So as long as ya’ll don’t overachieve and get a mid 1st round pick, you’re guaranteed a solid first rounder or a steal of a second rounder. I think both short term and hopefully longterm both teams have won the trade.

  7. It needed to happen. Quinn flat out did not want to be here. He was playing like a man checked out of his team. We needed more decent bodies to fill the lineup. Drafting has improved for us. We might get a really good play out of the draft pick. Our development program has improved, and we even had a player crack roster at 18. He didnt last long but it shows what the canucks can produce.

  8. As a Minnesota fan, I’m loving this trade. It sux you are losing an elite defender, but you are getting future value in the trades. The problem with trades is hoping it works out but you are getting some good pieces to help rebuild (the word we all hate).
