He and Byfield took a while but both look really sharp this year. The Covid draft is probably gonna have more late bloomers because of all the time they had off.
If you watch him every game you can just see the skill and the talent. It’s slowly comin out like Whit said game after game just keeps improving. Hes got 17 goals this season another year or 2 it’ll be 30/40 goals he’s a really good player
I think he was held back a lot by the kid line, he would always get the puck into the ozone and Kakko would turn it over. He is a very hard skater and makes tons of good moves I wish it reflected more in his points totals.
Really feel Laff would've developed faster if he played at least one full season in Hartford. He would've played 20 minutes a game on the top line/top pp unit. Glad it's working out now.
Nash said it best when it came to Crosby like you said he isn’t the talent of Crosby but this is the age you get your “man strength” and feel like you belong in the league.
So tough to be ready to play grown men when you're 18. Especially in the nhl where dudes give zero fucks and are relentless. Of course it's impossible… but I try not to judge KIDS too harshly. Million factors go in to being a successful pro, one goes wrong it could all go wrong.
Raymond is better, he’s driving a line by himself right now. They moved him down so Larkin, Kane, DeBrincat could play together. We saw what he could do on the 3rd line which was nothing. He needs stars to carry him.
Agree. The organization for some reason does a poor job of developing talent.
Look how long it took to get Buchnevich going. Chytil always seems like he is on the cusp before something derails it, same with Kakko. I hope Kakko stays…he just needs to be a little more aggressive offensively. He has the tools
Is this a joke ? Congrats Laffy, you are leading the team in having the worst +/- numbers again. It's bad enough that they wasted a #1 pick on him, then Drury rewards his mediocre performance with a big contract extension. Send that bum to Hartford, we are better off with Berard or one of the other non-busts. Maybe it will wake him up…

He’s not quite there yet but he’s showing he can be soon

Am I the only one always annoyed by how Whit says his name?
Still got a ways to go!

Seth Jarvis Timmy Stu and Raymond clear him by a mile.

wow whit has no knowledge kakko is good watch him play than talk
Just like nugent Hopkins.
Just exactly how joe Thornton started too.
Lafrenière was raised in big game environments as a youngster. As a result, it seems we see him stand out more in the playoffs.
whats sickening about kakko is you can SEE his skill set on display every night.. but nothing ever happens lol
