I think Edmonton could really use another D man in the style of Ekholm. I know that's a much harder ask but shoring up their blue line with a shut down D could really make so much difference.
Knowing Oilers management, they’ll trade him and then use the freed up cap space on something this team doesn’t need (aka, NOT a goaltender). And then they’ll cry crocodile tears when they get bounced in the first round.
The only reason to trade him is if they believe he will never be fully healthy again. If they trade him it should be to get a player that plays like a healthy Kane. Not sure how many of those are out there.

He hasn’t played in almost a year, nobody going to give much for him and doubt they would take on that contract, still has one more year on I think 🤔
