  1. I'm happy for Necas. He really took off towards the end of his time with the Canes and obviously being paired with Mack will help him even more. Glad he's out in the West!

Also I'll never forget fans saying he was going to be a bust and a terrible pick literally seconds after he was picked in 2017.

  2. if Marchand is a GM and agrees to a contract with a player, is the deal going to sealed with a handshake and a lick?

  3. The Canucks are almost at the point where they should consider throwing the season. They're not out of it, but losing Hughes et al for any length of time could be catastrophic. They won't, because ownership won't allow it, which means probably picking in the middle of the pack at the draft again, if they even have their 1st round pick or the player they got for it by the end of the season.

  4. Rantanen settled for less in a tax free state because he was getting passed around like Bop It & no contending team could afford to pay him 14 mill

  5. Vancover vs the blues will be an interesting one tonight . The blues have jake neighbors out for 5 weeks and Thomas is still out. Plus they called up daliber dvorski.

  6. Dallas doesn’t have taxes the way Colorado does. Rantanen can afford to take less there by comparison. Getting Nečas locked up is terrific for the Avs. He has terrific chemistry with the team, especially MacKinnon, and has been over a point per game so far this season (and last). He’s an offensive playmaking dynamo and at 26 will only get better.

  7. Right now necas is playing way better than mikko I don’t care what you say but mikko is barely a ppg player right now and necas is way above that mark. He fits in better I think with mackinnon and makar and our play style we are going to be a tough team to beat these next 4 to 5 seasons. Hopefully we can pull a couple of cups out of this run

  8. Which means that the Avs hit their budget and have done so for a player who is currently putting up similar numbers to the guy he replaced, while three years younger, and who the advanced stats suggest does better paired with MacKinnon than the old guy. There is every possibility that the Rantanen trade ends up being the best path for everybody except Dallas – Mikko gets to be a bigger star in Dallas, and put up potentially better individual numbers; Necas finally gets to be in a system where he can shine a bit more and pick up his game; the Avs control their budget and get Drury who is shaping up to be a good depth player; and the only ones in the cold are Dallas paying over the odds potentially.

  9. roll over and die avs give Canada our cups back you sad excuse for a winter sport. stole a team stole a goalie stole an entire roster. 96 avs can get f***

  10. Necas is so underrated, people harp on him for being streaky but at least when he's not putting up points he plays well without the puck and is able to stay motivated.
