The Dallas Stars will host their annual New Year’s Eve game at American Airlines Center tonight, as they square off with the streaking Buffalo Sabres in Big D (7 p.m. CT). The Stars have only played one game in the last seven days and they are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Chicago Blackhawks last Saturday night. Dallas is on a six-game point streak (4-0-2) and they are 8-2-2 (18 pts., 0.750) in the last 12 games. Buffalo is the hottest team in the NHL, currently riding a nine-game winning streak, with six of those victories coming on the road. The Sabres have not lost a game in any fashion since December 8th, a 7-4 loss to the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome.
