Scouting team needs to take blame for assembling this mess of a team. How did scouts think that Pearson, Nyquist, Toews, Schenn would be a great add to this team? Jets have only one legit 1st line. Other 9 are all 3rd and 4th liners at best..

Sabres made the Jets look like a Beer League team. Not a one off. They are performing as expected given the talent level and age. Arneil is kidding himself putting Schenn on the ice again. His job will go before Chevy makes any moves.

Eric Comrie is as culpable as the rest of the team here – no it wasn't his fault, but yes he could have done more. The first goal for instance – he can't let a shot that he had eyes on sneak through and drop in the crease for a bang-in on the PP when you need your goalie to be your best player. This was a total team breakdown from the goal line out.
When Helly was declared "out for 4 to 6 weeks", I stopped watching. I KNEW the Jets were going to tank. I've been saying for YEARS that this team is far too reliant on Helly. When he's on, they win. When he's not on or out, they lose most games. Helly is the MVP of the league and the best goalie. The roster is older and slower in a younger and faster league. Nyquist and Pearson are NOT suited for the Jets. Everyone knows that Stanley is a liability. He was doing okay with Helly in net, but now… not good enough. Miller, pass. DeMelo, NOT a top RHD. Toews, Schenn and Perfetti too slow. Remove Nyquist, Pearson, Schenn, Stanley and Miller. Inject Salomonsson, Heinola, Koepke, Zhilkin, Chibrikov and then go get a RHD. Youth and Speed over the slower messy slow thinking players. JoMo w/ Salo, Samberg w/ Pionk, Heinola w/ Demelo OR Trade Demelo for a RHD. 1st line is Scheif, KFC and Perfetti. Lowry line is Nino and Al. Barron with Koepke and Zhilkin. Toews with Vilardi and Chibrikov.
Fail by the organization to allow Helly to determine when he should have surgery when he and the team were aware he needed it in the pre season. Fail by Chevy to allow Ehlers to walk instead of trading him. Fail by Chevy to add second line players instead of an old washed up star and fourth line throw aways. Fail by Arnie to recognize his older players can’t play a system. This entire organization is a joke. If Chipman doesn’t hold Chevy accountable after 15 years of failing to win a cup the fans shouldn’t spend a single cent supporting this team. Helly in net would make zero difference when it comes to defensive team play. In fact it would be worse as the boys assume he’ll make the save to bail them out for floating and refusing to play physical. Expect a long winter Jets fans this shit show is only getting started.
