Simple drill that can help reinforce an accurate contact in the “goal position”!
If you’re miscontacting the ball often, the force you produce in the Spiking Sequence isn’t going to go into the ball as well as if you were to connect with the ball accurately. This drill helps athletes learn the feeling of being in a full reach with a slight side bend from the Reverse S Curve (for optimal shoulder position, contact point and trajectory/force into the ball), a full palm contact and a visual of what it looks like to be in the goal position.
I like pairing this with simple Standing Spikes to apply this position and visual to the skill at a low intensity. You can practice adjusting with different tosses and getting to the goal position. Over time the athlete will get better at timing the toss/set and adjusting themselves to get to the goal position, use the Spiking Sequence, and get an accurate contact.
A lot to it but hope this helps! Keep at it 📈

How to correct low contact point
Step one: don't hit in a low contact point

I couldn't see what was wrong with the 1st hit.

My problem is that as a middle, I can only hit 2s or 2.5s because a 1 would cause me to hit it too early or too late so the hits are either weak, or strong but out of bounds. How do I fix this?
Nice 👍
