This Jets team is the worst I can recall having seen following the 2016 NHL Draft, following which each regular season has featured more wins than regulation losses except this one. A top-three divisional spot is likely a pipe dream while even a wildcard spot looks increasingly likely to be one as well.

Barron already is on the 2nd line. He’s been playing 16+ minutes a night in the past few weeks on lowrys wing and they’ve looked really good together. I don’t see the appeal in splitting those two up when they’re one of the few things that’s working

Also they might be the 1st team to finish 1st in the nhl then the following season finish last.

Oilers fan here. Jets will figure it out and still make wildcard imo. They are close to breaking out and going on a heater. They are still better than all the non contending central/pacific teams.

Jets need to be transparent time to move players that have value to retool the team to a much more consistent faster and better team top picks not in the merky middle picks drafting is crucial
They over value their prospects and now are going to be stuck with them. Barlow and lambert values have dropped off a cliff, lambert maybe be a 3rd line centre. Profetti has turned into a potential bust..
In the 2019 season the Jets hosed the Blues 9-0 or something and that is what woke up the Blues and then went on to win the cup.

I'm with you on most of this. This season is a write off. I'm done. But what I'm more worried about is a "retool" that is soft instead of pure reboot so we don't need a 10 year Buffalo Sabers rebuild that never works. We got 4.5 all-star caliber players who are on decent to amazing contract value. #37 wants to "win a cup." Is he going to be as gaslit as we was over the last three years to think Winnipeg can do that if this continues? No. His trade value is going to tank along with the rest of the team. Trade him NOW and get a king's ransom in draft picks and young legit talent already proven and stack the Moose. Because look at all the guys that are basically COOOKED down there through emotional abuse and are basically waiver wire ready. Lambert, Chibs, even Ford don't really look like the future anymore. Jets are the next Sabers if we don't plan and full reboot by doing something BIG that hurts a little for now but will result in something much better in 5 years. This window is closed shut.

When I got into hockey about 4 years ago I could have chose any team and I chose the Jets and I don’t regret that decision but wow this team has fallen from grace. I can only hope and pray we win 1st overall and pick McKenna.
The problem is just management no one takes any ownership and it is the rosters fault to but I feel like if cheveldayoff gains more common sense we could’ve been a 3 peat already and going for the fourth cup
Chevy has done his worst work in the last 1.5 years. Should have gone all in last year and did whatever it took. If he can’t make that happen he should be replaced. The draft and development motto hasn’t been working and quite frankly they’ve drafted horribly in the last half dozen years. Has known for years that they need a 2c!! Has known for years that they need someone to play beside 44. Has known for years that the bottom pair d is not good enough. Far to status quo. When things aren’t working they always say we got this and we’ll work our way out of it. This organization actually tried to tell us they were contenders. How in the world could they take this team from what it was at the end of last season and think we need to add slow old players? Simply putrid solutions to the problems that faced them. So slow on the uptake and resistant to change at their own expense
