This was NOT Matthews' fault. He backchecked, then saw that Hildeby was in position to set up a pass. He positioned himself to receive the pass and go on a breakaway, then Hildeby fanned on it with his stick. That's why Matthews fell over; he tried to reposition himself suddenly after it was too late.
Hildeby screwed it all up.
