Attended the Wings game with the bluSabres. Toronto played well and the interactions on the bench seemed normal from my seat 60 feet away, anecdotally.
They looked this way last year also. They got otherwordly goaltending and still had some puck possession hangover, but the signs were there this was going to be this way.
Beurebe is a great coach. Get rid of these pansies and build the team around his style
until the actual players come out and say we don't want to play the coaches way I won't believe it
Wendel Clark and Mats Sundin the two best captains in the history of the Leafs because both of them could give a hit, saw Leafs play Islanders at the Gardens and Sundin took out one Islander player, so they had to have two player help that Islander player to the bench and after that hit the Leafs played tough and won.
I don't it's a change in stylistic play I think it's a matter of Tanev stabilizing the back end and their breakouts have been a lot better and they possed the puck more the last few games
Bérubé is a one trick pony and his team isn’t capable of playing his type of game. He’s not going to change and they’re not. Cut ties and move on.
Maybe you should give back the C to Tavares, then fire the GM! Trade Nylander for a package, go get a goalie, find coach who dint play in the NHL.
They could dump and chase if they made smarter dumps. I dunno whose idea it is to dump it into a corner and battle for it but the smarter thing is to draw defenders to your side of the ice and hard rim it around to the other side. If the defenders start cheating to take that away it should open up the middle of the ice for slot passes. But throwing it into a corner and having a 50/50 pick battle is stupid hockey. That’s not what the good dump and chase teams do.
