hockey was first played in Nova Scotia as it was a combined game adapted from a game played on ice in europe with a ball and sticks created by the native mi'kmaq people on nova scotia. the first organized game of ice hockey was played in montreal. there are many theories out there about other similar games being played in europe but to be factual those games were alot more similar to golf then hockey
