Who made your Naughty or Nice List for the Bruins?
If they have a chance to move Lohrei, do not hesitate, do it. I'll even help him pack.
I really wish they would burry Korpisalo in Providence. They can't make the same mistake with DiPietro as they did with bussi. And honestly at least DiPietro can stop a beach ball

Here’s the problem with the Boston Bruins team defense as a whole without saying the obvious, they stink
One:
The Bruins only have 3 real Top 6 defenders and one of them, Hampus Lindholm, is a plus in terms of puck retrieval, transition and special teams
However, Hampus Lindholm is also minus because he’s soft, his defensive IQ is rotten at times, he’s penalty prone, he’s not hard to play against & he loses more of his board and net front battles than he wins
Two:
Aspirot, Harris, Callahan, Peeke, Lohrei, Jokijarju, Koko, Soderstom,…. Each and every last one of these guys is a bottom pair defenseman at their ceiling, even Aspirot Bruins homers
That doesn’t mean all of these guys stink (although some do), it just means they are what they are… Bottom pair defenders that need to play sheltered minutes in order to not get exposed
Thus even when healthy, the Bruins have to play at least one of these bottom pair guys in their Top 4
And at least 3 of these bottom pair guys are in the lineup every game!!!
If there’s any injury to Mac, Hampus or Zadorov, now two of these bottom pair guys are in their Top 4 and 4 of their 6 defenders would be bottom pair players
That’s called disastrous
Perfect example
Andrew Peeke is fine as a 3rd pair guy but he’s had to play in the Top 4 for a bit now
Because of recent injuries Hampus is also now being asked to play more of a shutdown role than just being allowed to retrieve pucks and push the puck out of the zone
Whose looked fairly terrible lately defensively?

Again, this exists not just because Hampus Lindholm and Andrew Peeke suck but due to poor roster construction as anytime injuries strike both Hampus and Peeke are asked to play roles & minutes they aren’t suited for and neither does well in those roles, ever
Three:
The Bruins are one of the slowest teams in the NHL and their roster across its entirety is not one that anyone would say is speed and or skill based
Thus the Bruins are constantly chasing the puck and the play, which leads to a crap ton of penalties and injuries
Thus unless the Bruins actually trade for someone that can be a true Top 4 Right Side d-man and Koko turns out to be a competent 3rd pair bottom guy, I doubt the Bruins can improve much defensively this season
Lindholm – Mcavoy
Zadorov – Real Top 4 RHD (trade for)
Koko – Aspirot
Peeke Lohrei
The problem?
I seriously doubt the Bruins have the ammunition to trade for a real, Top 4 RHD and even if they did, I’m not sure they should be moving assets for any RHD unless that guy is one, a REAL Top 4 RHD and two, he has a lot term left on his current deal
Thus this is one of the big, if not the biggest reason the Bruins should sell at the deadline
They stink defensively & they’re going to continue to stink defensively because their talent level says they’re going to continue to stink defensively
And news flash… The Bruins have stunk all year defensively, they’ve just been bailed out by Swayman all season long but even he is beginning to get burned out
Boston Bruins 5×5 Defensively on the season:
32nd: xGA
28th: Scoring Chances Against
22nd: High Danger Chances Against
Jeremey Swayman is also 6th in the NHL in Saves Above Expected
This version of the Bruins is all goaltending and special teams and when either of those two things even slip a little, the Bruins start getting hammered and losing streaks start happening
-The Bruins are at the lowest end of average offensively at 5×5 and that’s probably being nice
-The Bruins are 100% one the worst defensive teams in the NHL, especially at 5×5
-The Bruins have no big club roster depth
-The Bruins have nothing in PVD that’s going to help them this year
-The Bruins are one of the biggest but slowest teams in the NHL
-The Bruins still have largely a below average Farm System and they still only have 6 real NHL prospects today (Hagans, Letourneau, Moore, Zellers Pettersson & Simpson), that’s it
In other worse Bruins Fans…..
It’s time to embrace selling this year…..

We saw how Cam bungled negotiations with Swayman in the media and rode him too hard last year as a result (conjecture on my part, I know). But I think that’s what’s happening with Lysell now, too. He doesn’t fit the “Bruins” mold and now I think he’s being punished for it.

Swayman is 27 years old. He makes 8.2 million a year, if he cant handle playing 65 games a year there's something wrong. Don't get me wrong I like his play, but come on. As far as Korpisalo goes, send him to Providence. If he's claimed off waiver fine, we unload his contract. It's interesting that the B's have lost 4 out of 5 without Aspirot in the lineup.

I think it's clear Marchand just isn't a captain for a rebuilding team. He demanded a level of accountability and improvement that the roster just didn't have enough skill to satisfy. The team this year is a lot more aware of their limitations which is leading to slight over performance
I cannot take watching 27 much longer…I just can’t take it…he’s the most overrated player on the team and was not even missed when he was out for a whole season!!!
I would like to see the Bruins go after Braden Schneider. He's 22 and big RHD with a 2.2 mil contract. He would take care of our 2 pair RHD for the next 10 years. If the Rangers go into sellers mode I would overpay for this guy.
This is unwatchable and 27 does it again…another penalty…Brickley has now become such a whiner about the penalties…this is brutal
Does the front office believe in a player or not. If they won't trade someone because they are afraid to get burned, then you believe in him and his talent and you screwed up the relationship. If you dont believe in them trade them and move on. At this point I dont want any talent first prospects in Providence, it seems like a blackhole for nongrinder type player.

The goalie tandem is an issue. Korpi is not good. He is not pushing Swayman like Linus used to do. Swayman is not an $8 million dollar man. We way over paid him. I would bring up one of the young goalies and try and get that kid to push Swayman for playing time. The save percentage is not up to snuff.
