Matthews was HYPED up too much since his coming into the league. Yes, his first season was one where he definitely made a good first impression…in the regular season. His efforts in subsequent playoffs have been nothing shy of lacking, or effortless. He is developed a belief that all his accolades from the regular season is enough; and fans are now crying out Oh no it is NOT. Now that Marner has been traded away he has been under the Maple Leaf microscope, and shown the fans just how much he had been in Marner's shadow when he was the topic of all the Marner gossip.

I think Austin Mathews is fed up with Toronto and does not like Bérubé . A player with his ability and talent wants to win a Stanley Cup obviously . All players want that . I think he dosent want to say what he is thinking because he dosent want to disappoint fans and dosent want to get Bérubé fired . No way his talent has disappeared .
