   MTL has shown that their defensive play, as well as their goaltending, has been shaky at best. Danault was basically a no brainer.

   LA comes out way ahead because he had become a useless asset to them abd fact they got a second round pick for a 5 assist player is incredible like highway robbery looks bad on Hughes for not being patient within his own system.
   What everyone needs to think about FIRST is weather a team is a legit cup contender and MTL is NOT so that makes the move even more stupid.

   Danault's EDGE stats are pretty bad no where a legit second line player below avg shot explains why no goals doesn't tale many shots and spends most of the time in the defensive zone not a good place to play the game it puts pressure on the defence and goalies something MTL definitely does NOT want.If MTL becomes a legit contender in 2-4 years Danault will have declined even more so sooner or later this is a complete waste of time but hey LA says thanks for the second round pick and taking a contract off our hands.

    Caulfield, Suzuki and Evans learned a lot from him in 2021 playoffs run now the new kids turn Demidov , Hage , Texier ,Kapanen , just the vet we needed to help with those late period goal against 😅

    Danault will help the PK a lot and will have the added benefit of keeping Suzuki off of the PK so he focus his energy on 5v5 and the PP.

    They let go Dvorak and now bring back a guy quite similar. Danault in is prime was better than Dvo but not anymore. 5'5 M for next year as well is bad. Unless they brought him because some team wants Kapanen or Evans for a bigger deal later. Otherwise i am cold towards that new addition.

    I really liked Marco D'Amico's take on the trade, that basically, Danault will take a huge load off of Suzuki. I love the trade. ALSO, people must remember, the 2nd round pick we traded, was part of the Harris for Laine trade. So essentially, we got Laine and Danault for Harris, which is pretty good asset management.

    in their case i think their best defense is to keep up the play therefore the offense, cant get scored on if the opponent dont have the puck

    I think Montreal will be a real pain come playoff time, especially if they get healthy. Keep in mind their missing their #2 and 3 centers are out plus Liane and Ghule. Just imagine those 2 centers back with Liane healthy and playing well….all of the sudden Montreal would be a real threat with lots of scoring depth.

    its not an offensive trade for habs. it was a smart defensive center. shutdown guy. take some weight and stress if suzuki.

    It used to be said that the Habs would always pay too much for a French guy in a trade, and I think there was often some truth to that. In this case, I think they did well to get Danault for a second-round pick. Montreal needed a left-shot center after they sent Dvorak to Philly. Most importantly, they've definitely upped their post-game pizza-eating game!

    Phil is an add for faceoffs, PK and defence and did not cost us a player in return, so for me as a Habs fan, it's a win.

    I wanted to get your opinion on something I'm thinking about a trade for The Rangers. I think that they definitely need some Top 6 Scoring. I know that they have Salary Cap Issues. That's why I think that, if they might need to get scoring at a low rate, I suggest getting 2 of the players that were once traded for each other (Patrik Laine & Pierre Luc Dubois), with Salary Retention, if needed. Therefore (and for reasons mentioned), I see this as a likely solution. Let me know what you think

    Danault is not gonna be out 2 lines. We trade for him to be better in defense and have some stability in the team and the locker room! We know is not the best offensivly but un defense, its gonna be a realy good ass et we didnt have befor

    On a gamer view..Danault is not there to bring a sword to attack..but a shield to defend..wich Montreal is in need..a veteran with a good shield

    Kraken turning a 3rd and a 4th into a 2nd and a 4th involving Mason Marchment is a decent start, hope they continue to sell even if some of the trades may hurt
