Yeah, we missed on this. The only reason it makes sense to pass is the answer to the question would there have been a guarantee to resign Quinn? If yes, we should have made the trade, if it was in doubt, it's such a huge risk to trade so four 1st round assets for two years of a player.
Good lord. It didn’t help that Kasper went 0 for October point wise so it moved other pieces into the higher producing option. Let’s trade away 3 roster players and blow up our whole defensive pairs which have finally started to stabilize (with Seider and Edvinsson being a top pair in the league). We finally have center depth that we haven’t had in years. We are in second place in the East. Yeah, blow it up on a year and a half rental. I get it that Hughes played at U of M, but JFC. I don’t think opening up three new holes doesn’t make much sense. We can get another middle pair D man and shore things up without gutting our D pairings. I look to Florida and they have rangy good D men that can be physical and aren’t one trick offensive ponies. The Lightning had the three headed D monster with Hedman, McDonagh, and Sergachev. We are very close to there and have ASP who plays a similar role to Hughes. This is a terrible take and just looking to be pissed about anything. Big picture is we are better with developing our D and using less assets to get a solid D man. We should go hard at a Kyrou or Robertson to round out the forwards as Kane isn’t getting any younger and that will open a pretty big hole.
So… this is the state of Wings media coverage in the D. Makes sense, lack of playoffs and being invested has eroded the ability to see clearly.
So you trade your top pair LD, one of your core future top 6 c's, another prospect like buchelnikov, and a 1st for Hughes. Hughes is good and all sure, but youre filling a hole you've thus voided in the trade, have no assurances he's staying, and are out additional core pieces for a lateral upgrade when all things are factored in. And again, HE GAVE NO ASSURANCES. The wings need upgrade but this is a glorified rental as is. You de Don't feel the farm if youre this wings team in this moment. Go back to football

Getting rid of Simon would make us worse defensively… (one of our biggest issues) and there is no guarantee he resigns either us.
Dude getting rid of 4 first round picks for huges would not make us better so dumb
Damn y'all are in the wrong field… should've went into sports management 😂
Maybe this guy should be the Red Wings GM
And this is why you make YouTube videos and not a GM of a team!
Basics that yzerman/illitch orgs have no balls
