Aquillini needs to sell the team, PLEASE!! I keep thinking of Tom Gaglardi who now is a cup champ because he lets the management he hires to run the team…run the team without his "expertise" meddling the f**k out of the franchise. This was the year to TANK to give Quinn a top 3, possibly the first 1st overall pick in club history to build a contender with! Vancouver Canucks OFFICIALLY the Las Vegas/ Oakland Raiders of the NHL . No patience, constant tinkering and no improvement, you cant build a winner with constant upper management ,coach, and roster changes . FA needs to do the franchise and city a huge favor, sell the team and get the F#$* out .
Hughes wasn't going to sign here if you believe the Nucklehead's management. So trading him – it was, the sooner the better – as the longer they'd waited, the less they were going to get as a return. No brainer of a deal for them. I just wish they could trade Rutherford and Allvin. They're the reason it's all fallen apart here. Stupid management decisions over their tenure. Too many to list.

I’m with Price on this if they pick in the top 5 this year it’s a win, I know that is an odd link to the trade but honestly that’s a big part of it . I’m also thinking get a first for Sherwood ? Even a second this year for Sherwood would be great ! Make the picks Vancouver don’t trade them !!

I am more worried about a healthy Demko who will win a few games for the Canucks and they end up in their yearly position drafting from 10th to 15th.

Given the circumstances I think the Canucks did good, Rossi and Buium will be good players for them and the other two may turn out to be really good too. Thinking they would get another superstar to replace him is unrealistic. I mean who really gives up a superstar unless they want to leave?
I think these three talking heads need to understand is that there is a more than a 50% chance that Hughes is NOT going to sign in vancouver. to get an ELITE prospect like Buium, a solid 2C like Rossi AND a unprotected 1st is pretty ideal, add in Ohgren, who could spark Lekkerimaki and vice versa is cherry on top. Price thinks they are BETTER after this trade? then why is he unhappy with the returns? this will help the tank.
The Canucks are the biggest losers here with the huges trade a big time failure here but Canucks management I give this trade a F- here

Basically Vancouver got nothing special for Quinn Hughes Minnesota wins this trade hands down not even close all the Canucks got a top 4 d at best and a borderline second line center at best nothing special there and a 3rd line player at best and one 1st round pick again nothing special there

Bo Horvat was also traded around a year and half ago. Perhaps that trade changed Hughes' perception of the organization even with being named captain

Bertuzzi was drafted 27th with the Islanders and Ohgren has all the same intangibles, Rossi is a 60 point Center already and the prize of the lot is Zeev, who has been compared to Makar for difference maker along with a 1st in 2026 this year the return is great. Hughes is not guaranteed to resign and supposedly not willing to after this season. They signified a rebuild and cleared the rot out of the room and created a different environment and will build around Buium along with a high pick this year and Cootes, Willander who is a great Prospect projected to play with Buium.
Why is Zeev not a special player who is considered a top 5 Prospect in the world who is producing right now not best case scenario. Zeev is going to be a 60-70 point Dman with potential for more with club control.
