Edmonton Oilers News: David Tomasek Contract Terminated?
The Edmonton Oilers and David Tomasek look to be done. The Oilers depth player has been out of the lineup the last bit, and on Christmas Day a report has him heading back to the SHL. #EdmontonOilers #Oilers #NHL #SHL
Like the size of the guy but it's a difficult job to transition from any other league to the show. But with Howard and Hutson, there's not a whole need for him.

I can't see why Tomasek would quit now and leave all that money on the table. He is on a one way contract and waivers exempt so he can't wven be forced to transfer
I have no evidence to back this up, but my suspicion is Tomasek did not see eye to eye with Knoblauch, and the coach's lack of trust to anyone in the bottom 6 wore thin on him.
Short sighted Knoblauch. T should be w McD or Dry and that would take after a while. Third line really could have benefited from this. Opportunity lost .
Wish Frederic would walk from his! His contract is like Campbells. A GM who somehow got convinced he was worth an LT contract without a real proven history. Tomasek probably did the right thing .. coach didnโt really give him the ice time he deserved. He has a good year there and he could be back in the NHL next year with another team that will perhaps have some faith in him. Good Luck to him ..it takes some guts to walk away from the $ but he could well be back .. he will be 30 in Feb though so times a wastin!

He ended up getting stuck with a plug (#10 Frederic) when he was in the lineup.

Tomasek has elite hockey sense. I'd sooner send Frederick to Sweden lol.
