From last place at Thanksgiving to almost first place by Christmas, beautiful. Just shows how tight the Atlantic is, we can go on a 3 game skid and all the sudden we’re back in the basement, so keep the foot on the gas here and keep stacking points! We’re definitely “taking it easy” and turning it on when we need to still. That explains the Blues game. Worked hard and got it tied then when that last second goal happened in the 2nd period I kinda felt like that was the game. Not that they were purposely give up but there was a definite feeling of “eh fuck it” in the air during that 3rd period, didn’t help that we were getting no puck luck. I gotta say it’s incredible that we’re in a playoff spot right now, we all know this team has depth but it’s really showcased with tkachuk and Barkov out
Carolina is too small. Even at peak strength they aren't built to win like Florida and TB. Too weak, too small, and too soft. I have a soft spot for them, but man they seem like the southern Maple Laffs as a lot of people brought up. I'll take the 2 points and a happy Christmas

When I left for the Edmonton game I had a feeling Florida wasn't done. 7 shots in 2 periods felt to me like a spring was coiling. It was ridiculously low. Edmonton had that many shots against Calgary in the first 8 minutes. I wasn't at all surprised when they announced Florida scored 5 times.

I said it at around the 10 min mark of the 2nd period, that Carolina was gassed. They looked beat up and were holding on by a thread. Then the third period came up and the were completely dejected.
