Just to clarify he’s not saying it’s a dirty play he is saying the kicker is intentionally not kicking it cleanly.
Rams did the same against the Birds. It did serious damage to field position early in that game.
This is why some elements of Rugby should never leave football.

They went backwards on almost all their returns. Kick it all wobbly into the landing zone. Makes it so hard to field if you catch and then unpredictable if you let it drop.
