He was a classless grub. Next.
Him and Victor Matfield use to piss me off π π awesome footy players backed up by Monte and Brian outstanding team to watch
Where is he now? Would love to see and hear an interview with the infamous Bakkies Botha…from a kiwi
As impressive as putting socks on..
Bakkies was that guy you just hoped to never play against. Man was a beast.
You have one phone call ππ
Iβm a South African but bakkies was just criminal in so many ways. Geeeeez. Itβs funny now but if I were to play against him I would hate him
I love Bakkies, NZ All Black supporter here
Zinzan Brooke has some hilarious stories about bok players in his book
We need more personalities like Bakkies Botha in rugby. The Northern Hemisphere teams are trying to make everyone else sterile and boring, so they discourage any behavior that's not up to their standards. Here in SA, rugby is a violent, tough sport. Its not a sport that prides itself on being "inclusive" like they say in Wales/England/Ireland. Courtney Lawes also spoke about this on the Pod with Jim Hamilton and Andy Goode.
πππ..nice memories ππ
What a legend
Bakkies was old school
Bakkies is awesome… no one wants to listen to any Ali Williams story!
Because he was one of the worst!

He was a thug – and he didnβt need to be.

We need more "Bakkie Botha,s" & Richard Low,s in the game…..it's too fkn tame now, everyone's playing on training wheels in case they fall over n hurt demselves fkn poofters….. πππ
Players like him are one in a generation, ruthless on the pitch but a gentleman off it π
Rugby definitely kept Bakkies out of prison.
Did they ever name another child bakkiesπ
Completely unfunny π
As a Kiwi I loved watching Big Bad BAKKIS, such a giant of a man! But his thuggery was a low point.

When I was at school I was editor of our school news paper and he actually agreed to do an interview with a schoolboy. Still can't believe he agreed to it. He was the most humble man you'd ever meet and answered my questions with care and grace. Great guy.
You know what they say.
"Chuck Norris only scared of 1 man. That man be Bakkies Botha"

Bakkies was a legend of the game!!!
A lot of rent boys and Nonces play rugby
Nah nah Bakkies done mate π
Not sure if it was in this interview or another time on the sports cafe with Mark Ellis he only played the first half like Ali said he would walk off and he would go straight to the shower then go to bar not even worried about the rest of the game π―πΊπ

All a little Homogenerate
Bakkies epitomizes what playing rugby in SA was like back in the day….it rough and the game was secondary to the carnage we could inflict, really it was battle without the weapons. If my school rocked up at your school we were there to steal your chicks, piss on your battery and beat the crap out of your rugby team before mooning you on our way out. Good times !
I lost my love for rugby when 1) It went professional & 2) when I saw him play. However, having 2 boys who played I kind of understood the hero worship although they would never have dared copy his behaviour. There's a lot of testosterone on that field.
South Africans take rugby very seriously & tend to forgive bc "he's the man!"
Bakkies was an absolute Monster ππππ
Every New Zealnder at one point seemed to have collie flour ears, they had them when they joined the all blacks, the South Africans just played the game as hard as NZ, just not as skill full to get away with it.
