Find Dan Cameron! He has the answers! Spent hours with him as he analyzed what was wrong with the Leafs right now. Dan coached, tutored and mentored hundreds who made it to the big show and was instrumental in changing the way the game is played going back to the late '80's. Spoke at NHL coaching symposiums. Do the research and ask around about Dan. He knows hockey better than most ever have. Should be hired as an advisor at the very least!

I have a ton of respect for Pierre's evaluations, but when he said at the outset of the season on his podcast that the Leafs were still contenders, I almost coffee outta by nose.
Centre position is big donut hole and the power play resides in Vegas. Treviling did squat to upgrade this roster, other than add some forgettable role players. Mathews and Nylander need skill around them to be effective.

The Leafs have quit on every coach they have had after Pat Burns. This teams problem is the players and players only. They can’t play their positions and don’t have or haven’t had that gritty killer instinct for years. Mathews, Nylander are at 20% every game. Mathews seems looking for that Marner phantom pass. Almost 60 years (except for 93’) not a sniff off a Cup.
We booed the Leafsin the 60’s if they played like rap and we won 4Cups. I gave up after the Montreal playoff debacle. Utah and Seattle will win a Cup before the Leafs.
If this team was not an original six team with a strong fan base, it would have been sold by now.

Obviously a combination of things to fix. Maybe the changes to the team and players getting a year older (and lack of playoff success) has the dressing room separated. It's not a team at this point

Don't panic. Let the season nose-dive. Put guys on IR if they have anything wrong. Get the high draft pick and rest over the summer. If you have to blow it up do it then not now.
