Connor Ingram Could Play Himself Into Being The Oilers Backup Goaltender

  1. Ingram played fine against Vegas, but Pickard is well loved in that locker room so a lot has to go right for them to try and waive him.

  2. The downside to all this "depth" is the wasting of development for the oilers young tendies! Unger has been unreal bouncing around the coast and finally got the call up to Bako and won in his first AHL game. He should have been sharing the crease with Tomkins all season with Jonsson rotating in but everyone had to move over for Ingram to come in. Komets could win the coast with Day and Jonsson but Bako is dicey with Tomkins as their 1. When either Ingram or Picks ends up in Bakersfield then its back to the coast for the kids.. Let the kids play!!!

  3. For a goalie who hasn't played at this level for a long time now come up and do as well as he did I could see him with the big team in the future probably sooner than later

  4. They need a backup that gets them 500 in the games the play. Picks has been great for Oilers but hope Ingram at worse can help him get his second wind

  5. Is anyone actually watching the hockey? Pickard is an UNREAL backup goalie for an oilers team with defense like Swiss cheese. Watch the hockey guys. That guy is an absolute battler. People obsess over two simplistic stat lines way too much with goaltending. GAA is pretty much just straight up a team stat and save percentage is more a goalie stat but still reflective of a team. They don’t tell you anything about the types of chances, the pressure moments, puck play, reading/anticipating play, battling and putting the body on the line to make the save to keep your team in the game, rebound control, lateral movement, any of it. Watch the hockey. I will be rattled if Pickard doesn’t ride out this entire season with us till the end.
