People wonder why the Habs haven't won a Cup in over 30 years is because of a few douchebags who aren't real hockey fans & a handful from the French media keep bringing up language as an issue. These players are paid to play good hockey & not have to learn the French language. If they do, that's a plus but not required. It scares off talented players & management who could help the franchise who don't want to deal with these silly headaches. Shame on those people in the media who help publicize these useless idiots.

Not since Bob Gainy and Sakiu (abit minimal) Not Keane,not Gionta,not Patches, not Weber. Nick Suzuki is actually taking courses as well as a few other players following his lead like Gallagher ( married a Frenchie) Xhekaj ,Hutson,Slaf, Evans …. This can only bring fans even closer to the fanbase. Those who have a problem are C'est épais em maudit!!!!🤬
The NHL is the only truly international professional sports league in the world — Language is NOT supposed to be a barrier to play the Game at this level.
Nick is awesome. Unbelievable that he learned so quickly. He must be a really smart guy. The informal / formal can be confusing – making French tougher.
I grew up outside of Montreal as an Anglophone and this was my biggest complaint…..you want me to speak French, 'at least try' they would say. And when any of us Anglophones "tried". we were mocked and criticized. I totally understand the Suzuki family frustration.

I haven’t heard anything about it. All I can say is Suzy himself said Webby told him first thing is to learn some French… so I feel like maybe he hasn’t made much progress 😂 but that’s not everyone’s skill set and I think we can all agree Nicks are right where we want them.
