I genuinely thought this was worse than it was. It was clearly a joke. Sure, it's inappropriate to say on the air when kids are listening, but he wasn't aware of that. My father was horribly inappropriate in public, and very abusive. He once compared a server at a dim sum restaurant to a banana – to her face. He did that a lot. So in this situation, context matters. If this is just typical office banter and everyone's fine with it at both ends (no pun intended), no harm no foul. But I think a one week suspension so he'll be a bit more careful when he's got the headset on is fine. If I were his boss, I'd interview the person he was talking to and if it's just typical stuff they say to each other all the time and they're both fine with it, no problem. Just make sure you're not doing it when kids are listening over the air. I found it funny, but I'm not on the receiving end. If a buddy said that to me, I'd laugh. But I don't know any of the context of the situation.
