I think as fans of a team we care for so deeply we forget how tough this sport is for players, front office, etc. This team is still very good and can beat the top teams. I loved Phil during his time here, but a change of scenery was time for both him and the team. Getting a 2nd round pick that has a good chance at being a top 40 pick is very good and can easily be flipped. I'm not losing faith that this team can win
Re: our current situation – it's 1 of 3 things: 1- Ken is dumb 2- Ken thinks we are dumb 3- NHL players and staff have such fragile egos that GM's can call them out individually for substandard play.
For the record, I don't think Ken is dumb. The other two are a tossup. I never thought I'd miss Dean Lombardi so much!
Basically decided 6 months too late that we are gonna run with the kids. Spence walks, Clarke playing 7th defenseman minutes. Now we are gonna run with the young guys….Clown show.
Man that first season Phil showed out. Bummer ended up like this seemed like a likable dude. Decent return and 5.5 million dollars freed for a fella who wasn't producing and demanded a trade. And Yeah Phil is a Hab in his blood good for him and Montreal. That being said opens the door for Helenius. Unleash this huge hockey human. #GKG
