  1. I bet the coach is happy to have a player who can use their brain while moving like that. #41 knows his routes by hearttt and plays with the beat. Good for him!

  2. It's more common then you think, one of our trumpets plays football, and still performs at halftime

  3. This has got to be somewhere in a red state

No way in hell , they would allow those mock rifles to be used in a blue state

  4. Bro doesnโ€™t get a break, he play and during halftime he preform and then he play again

  5. Uhh I thought this was normal? We had like at least 10 or so football players and like 5 cheerleaders who were in marching band and did this while at games

  6. Thatโ€™s a pretty common thing these days. My town has two high schools and every year there is usually 2 or 3 football students who are also part of the band

  7. When I was a freshman, I was told by the football coach that I had to decide between football and band. I chose band and went on to teach music for 35 years. In my schools, students were part of many organizations and we as leaders worked together to give them the opportunity to do what they wanted.

  8. For those of you that do this, how do you work around attendance? At my school, if you miss a few practices, you canโ€™t be on the field. Same thing for band rehearsal. And both the band and football team have rehearsal/ practice everyday after school. There was only an honors-level music theory class during the day.

I remember one football player tried to join percussion (even more time-demanding), but ended up quitting. We really took up 15+hrs/week.

  9. This is common. Band always had athletic. Choir had both, orchestra, and theatre kids. Orchestra had all but athletic. At least in my school ๐Ÿฅด.

  10. My daughters school went against this team. (At least I think, they had same colors and multiple football players, and even drill team dancers were also included in the band.) this was because there school was so very very small. They also had a girl on the football team, and she was one of the ones in the band. Go her!!
