The Rangers started the 3rd period down 4-2 but thanks to goals by Vincent Trocheck and Mika Zibanejad the Blueshirts were able to force the game into overtime. Rangers would kill 2 penalties in sudden death and would win the shootout in just 2 rounds with goals from Panarin and Trocheck and both stops from Igor Shesterkin.

Team really struggling to get points down 4-2 coming back to win is huge
Vali: “Morrow’s pass “moves the goalie more!” That level of on-ice IQ apparently is not that common across the squad as it had been in years past. I still see little evidence of someone with enough composure to settle the game down when things go ‘tits up’. Passing, even from JT and others, more times than not are atrocious. Intended targets for passing seems to come down to jersey color and not whether they’re open. On the other hand so few across the team actively move to be open. Passing or clearing always seems to be a game of hot potato (‘here, it’s your problem now’).
I’m afraid that Artemi Panarin will ask to be paid like the best player of the Rangers(like Igor did last season) and he is. So he will ask for more than 12M (for 5 years?) and he will be gone.
Panarin is scoring his next contract! The Rangers cannot pay him what he is asking for! I guess in February he will be dealt away..
Boyle is a tragedy on commentary. Daves not much better but Boyle is such a nut tickler, never the least bit objective. Ran his big fat yap at the start of the second about how wonderful everything was, and within minutes they were being outshout 2-1 and down 3-1. He described Panarins 1 goal first period as "Unbelievable". Really?
