Why i have not yet heard anyone say the obvious? AM is not a leader, but thats okay. Take the C away from him and just let him play hockey. He isn't the guy who is going to rally the team and lead the way so stop asking him to. Let him focus on what he does well, and nothing else
The fans are at fault because they drove the best player since Doug Gilmour out of Toronto. Fans threatened Marner and his families life, fans blamed Marner for all the issues wrong with the leafs. The fans blamed Marner for the playoffs downs when it's a team sport. In all the playoffs Marner was second or first on the points list the 10 years they got into the playoffs.
Now everyone can see how bad Mathews is without Marner, Nylander doesn't hit he just skate around away from everyone waiting for the puck then does nothing with it., Mathews cant hold on to the puck when he has it.
Now everyone is blaming Tavares and Reilly when its not either one of their faults. The 3rd and 4th line are doing good. The only players in the top 6 that are doing good are Tavares and Knies all the rest nothing.
Fans and other people need to open their eyes. Media needs to back off and other media needs to come clean at tell it how it is.
Its all Marners fault the leafs are doing bad but Marner is not there and the new team he's on he's 3rd in points and his new team is first in their division.

From the moment he signed I knew Matthews would be run out of town, it just took longer than I expected. The Leafs always do this to their top players. They get blamed for not winning the Cup because as we all know the Leafs are always favored to win the Cup. It's why it's such a thrill for opposing players to come to Toronto to play the Leafs especially on Saturday nights. Is it possible for an entire franchise and fan base to get over themselves?
Berube is the right coach but not for this group of players. Yes Im a Blues fan but we all knew Berube was done with his current lineup. He sounds the same now. He needs a few very good veteran players but he needs the other 18 to work their ass off.

They do not care about winning. Maybe the fans who don't care either are fine with watching a soap opera instead of a hockey team, but for the rest of us it's time to move on.
Any rebuild MUST begin with moving out Treliving. If he runs the rebuild the rebuild will never end.
