The avs dont need the pp to be a dominant team, so they are experimenting with anything and everything… bedsy said they dont practice this year, so thats what they are doing every pp… i really feel like they are trying to develop something the league hasn't seen before. Is it going well? Not at all, but this team is soooo good at 5v5 that they dont care if it works or not…
They can be bad on the pp and it doesnt directly effect how they play 5v5
The pk on the other hand… that is something that can directly effect how they play 5v5 if they are bad and they know that and play accordingly, hence being tops in the league all season…

Let’s just call it what it is. The PP sucks, but at the moment it doesn’t really matter and it won’t until the playoffs. And the only time in the playoffs it will matter is if we play the Dallas Stars who are currently 1st in the league in PP. Dallas is an absolute disaster 5v5 but because of their power play and their what some would consider unsustainable finishing they are the only team that could hurt us. And with the recent history between these two teams that’s the only reason the Avs PP is worrisome right now.
My delusion is that the avs want to have a "secret weapon" late in the season/playoffs and have been keeping their "real PP" top secret in hopes teams legitimately treat our PP as our only true weakness so bednar can flip a switch and take advantage of teams over confidence. Like I said. Delusion. But it's fun to dream ❤️
