Rick Tocchet on Quinn Hughes departure out of Vancouver, current season with the Flyers
Philadelphia Flyers Head Coach Rick Tocchet joined the guys and shared his thoughts on Quinn Hughes departure out of Vancouver on Friday and his first season with the Flyers.
I don't know if most Canucks fans know this but, if you're a captain in Vancouver, you're almost guaranteed to get traded. Since the 90's, it's been the case: Trevor Linden, traded. Mark Messier (no one cares but its the stat lol), traded. Markus Naslund, traded. Roberto Luongo traded. Bo Horvat, traded. and Quinn Hughes, traded.
So obviously the only captain to have stuck it out with the team till the very end is Henrik Sedin. Very rare for the Canucks to have that calibur of captain to be loyal and to give Vancouver some great years.
Canucks aside, time will tell how Tocchet, JT Miller and Hughes perform. Neither one of them may win the Cup ever and Minnesota may be Hughes big chance this year. He won't win in Jersey. Mark my words.
Tocheett, so good at dancing around the cancer at the center of this team 😊 this problem isn't about the fans…ya losers. should have fired the current mngt, no ballzz, old school, weak, spineless, their strategy changes everyday… but mostly throw a muzzle on the owners 😂. When that team gets old… Time for a Pro Owner like JimmyP, the goat on the coast, buys this team and lets a manager like Trevor manage, do what they do in their industry… 😂. Canuck chaos
He made a point of saying "he wants to play for the US Olympic team"… I don't think people realize how choked Hughes was after being cleared to play with the Canucks but then still being held out of 4 Nations. Could've very well been the start of the fallout with Canucks. I think he was more upset than what people think. Of course he's going to say all the right things but funny how he was according to some "all the way back" and suddenly experienced a "set back" that kept him out even longer 😂
I just watched John Shannon's show, where he had Allvin. All soft questions. Really impressed by the tough questions you asked Tocchet and other guests.
Quinn was the best defenseman in the league he was a leader and a fabulous player he is the best defenseman period as the team will be better with this players as their building in having a championship team
