Struble is an embarrassment and so is Carrier , if you think those two guys belong than obviously your credibility is garbage , xhekaj has been a beast and exactly 8 days ago on this very channel i said , it’s time to sacrifice games if needed and start giving xhekaj on the pk and minutes all together and look what’s going on now , xhekaj needs to be developed, take a break from fighting all these losers throughout the league who serves no purpose .
I seriously think Xhekaj can become a shut down Sheldon Souray , he’s been looking amazing even in the habs losses lately and struble tries hard but he’s just a fumble machine . Carrier is also brutal constantly make easy plays look hard and can make the right play to get outta the zone to save his life , often making his defense partner look horrible
Btw Hutson didn’t elevate his play , he was always a hard working beast with a lot of pride , he just didn’t get those type of minute cause of matheson elite cardio .
Also , Dobson isn’t looking so shit hot right now , to the fans and people who claimed Hughes committed robbery , I’d be humble and wait a little before bragging .
There’s no logical chance Engstrom should be sent down , ever again , not only that guy is a top four but has the potential to become a great number 2 defenseman . He looked awesome with Xhekaj .
When Matheson and Guhle comes back , I really hope they would trade Carrier , don’t get me wrong , Carrier is better than Struble right now but it’s easier to sit Struble at his age and salary than Carrier . The only problem is all the left handed defensemen but engstrom is a RD
Tough choice to make , especially with Pickford shattering records in the WHL and Reinbacher having draft pedigree and Hughes is gonna want to save face with him and play him
You add to this Bogdan , Protz and Mittelstadt who are very respectable prospect , there’s some real congestion at the blue line , guys aren’t getting the minutes they need to develop and won’t be gaining value fast and some will be traded by force due to the congestion
The habs needs to give big minute to the guys they wanna trade so they can get better and gain value
20:22 shouldn’t Dobson at 9.5M have a greater impact/being more dominant, on the team or I am missing something? To me he plays like a 6M$ guy and not a 9.5. Only me? Not saying he’s bad but not 9.5M good!
Good point about the Marty haters Shaun. They only show up when it’s convenient for them to air their pent up anger. As if being near the top of the Atlantic division just magically happened on its own. Of course we can critique certain things, but those calling for him to be fired are completely out to lunch. Really grinds my gears😂
I think they have to keep Engstrom up no matter what, even if only to get him enough reps to smooth out his rookie mistakes and move him along in his development in anticipation of Reinbacher coming next season. I'd MUCH rather have Engstrom with 60+ games + Reinbacher in the lineup than rookie Engstrom + Reinbacher. Also I don't think you're losing anything, really, compared to Struble. That's one of the major challenges this season – managing the onboarding of young players while also trying to win.
Btw You guys do an outstanding job , youre the only hockey show I watch , everything else has become cringy and bias .
I really think I know my hockey and been watching it religiously for over 40 years . And having said that I think , I seriously think that , HOCKEY NIGHT in CANADA should fire that whole panel and replace that disgusting bias and uneducated panel , except maybe for bieska .
Than Hire Starr to replace Ron “the rat” Maclean . And surround himself with D’Amico , Bieska and I hate to say it but , Steve Dangle . Seriously I hate the leafs but somehow I ended up watching a show with Dangle and couldn’t believe how realistic and non bias that guy was
HNIC has become and embarrassment, Botterill and Hrudey are cringy AF and unwatchable, Ron MaClean is the English version or Renault Lavoie and poor old kevin Bieska has to sit through those horrendous shows , often rolling his eyes and shaking his head
All that to say that you guys are very entertaining, Shaun has that great carrying voice , neutral attitude that rises intensity and often meant to poke but delivered with a sudden touch of sarcasm at time , Marco is unbiased , very humble , doesn’t overreacted and states facts

Couldn’t Montreal pull a mega trade with StLouis , make them an offer they could refuse for players they’re more than ready to let go , and Montreal would overpay to get rid of deadwood in this very same trade
Sorry but the habs won’t get to the next level as long as they continue having guys like Gallagher in the Lineup . The habs are handicapped by old and injury or under achievers contracts . It’s really time to get rid of Laine , Gallagher and even Dach contracts
What’s gonna happen by the end of the season when Dach , Laine and Newhook back in the lineup? They’re gonna sit texier and Veleno in favour of gallgher and Veleno? I don’t think they should send beck down either , he has played very well and has a lot of energy

Do you guys think there should be more awards for defensemen , even goalies have more awards given to them than defensemen
Shouldn’t it be an awards for best defensive defenseman , one for the most offensive defenseman and the Norris given to the best overall defensemen .
This is really unfair to guys that are real shut down guys , sure Makar is a scoring machine but I’ll take Slavic over Makar in any intense defensive situations.

I’m a lifelong, die-hard Habs fan, from watching games with my dad in the ’70s .I watched intensely to catch a glimpsed of Le Démon Blond's flowing locks and ruffling #10 jersey as he flew down the ice. Guy Lafleur of course ! In 1993 when they won their most recent cup I lived on Sussex st in a brownstones apt building near Atwater and St-Catherines ,I could see the Forum from my front stoop. I was a student at Dawson College at the time. I’ve seen the highs, the dark years, the close calls (2010, 2014, 2021), and the constant ups and downs—but I’ll always be a Habs fan.
