Tomasino had 3 pts in his first game in wilkes. Its sink or swim and if we're decided on him, he also needs to go. Rut has scored 4 goals in 4 consecutive games. He has waited long enough. I think the the window of prioritizing the postseason over development is over. Play the pups.
The score was 7-2 but it wasn't really that close. It was tough to watch in person. I was happy with the increase in shots on goal. But the roster that was on the ice tonight was bad. Mantha looked disinterested. Sids line should never include heinen or Dewar and I have no idea why a 6'5" Hayes doesn't play big. Why no broz but Novak, heinen, hayes keep getting ice time. Would love to see koivunen-kindel-broz on a line together.
Your are not very deep if Heinen ,Dewar and Kopannan are your depth . Novak is hit or miss at times, Yet Broz, Rutger and Avery Hayes play in the minors but we are playing the young guys ? Why call up Broz if he isn't going to play I'm sure he would rather be playing with the baby pens instead of watching from the press box. The kid got one stinking game, How can you see what he can do in one game give a kid a chance to prove himself Geez as you would say Dan I digress
Realistically they need elite goaltending and special teams to win with the injuries. They're not a great team. Get Rak, Braz, and Rut back in gives them a chance.

Veterans cant play two game on row, they don't have power. Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Karlsson they are near 40 soon. Just they dont have anymore fresh legs. And if they dont make play then bottom six also not playing.

Graves is horrible. He reminds me of beau bennett a complete waste of skates. Novak is horrible. Hayes just not an everyday player. He is ok to sub in from time to time Plus back to back games and no lineup changes. Doesn’t make sense. They worked hard just dumb.

All you have to look at is one stat…..SID CROSBY has 11 assists in 25 games? To be clear this is not a mistake. When one of the the best passers in the game has only 11 assists there's problems. When Rakell was healthy he had three goals in 9 games, Kindle unfortunately didn't pot any, Dewar nope, Heinen really? I actually think Hayes would start, and everyone's favorite Rust is floundering. I have seen Sid make crisp passes and they are shot wide, over the net, whiffed on, or shot at 25mph……..Pittsburgh has short handed 87 pretty much his whole career with third liners and now he needs legit help, or is it too early to start the trade Sid talk, cause he deserves better. Let's start the real conversation from Dubas, "changes are coming at Xmas……ok maybe the Oympics…….definitely at the trade deadline……..we are going to ride it out and miss the playoffs……..boy are we set up for 2026-27 season!"
Silovs isn't anything beyond a NHL backup at best. The net should be primarily Jarry's. If they don't feel Jarry can hold up to that, then get rid of Silovs and bring up Murashov for a 50/50 split.
All of us have to take a step back and remember, this was probably going to happen this year. When this year started none of us, including myself, had this team as a contender, which they are not. They are a team in transition and this is what happens to a team in transition. You'll have some good and you'll have some bad. I don't think there needs to be a huge overreaction, because I think this was expected as the transition of this team continues.
It would be a christmas miracle if Letang would skate hard to dig out a puck when they dump it in and on the odd case he gets it, how about not turning it over up the middle. It's always the same mistakes (thats the frustration). Great analysis
Ned > Silovs the AHL goalie Trade Silovs to the Oilers. Why trade Ned to the Sharks for a bum? Ned was a fighter with a 1 year left on his contract. Kindel should be in the minors. The future isn't now. Why is he here past 9 games. Pens mismanagement. Nobody has drafted 18 year olds in their lineup but Dubas.
I rewatched the first game this season, then when they played Winnipeg they started to slip up. The up to tonight’s game live. Sloppy passing into the skates. Not getting into lanes, what happened to the 3 forward position on one side charging into the offensive zone, that changed. Just observing here. I don’t think this is a muse thing, I think this is a roster problem lacking talent. I really like Ville but it’s not working out. Same as what other commenters said about Heinen, Graves, etc.
Fix the passing, need faster players on the ice to help get into lanes. There’s been many times a winger came down the ice to dump it in.
I’m no expert, but I think this game showed ALL issues with what the team has. They can still get the job done, they just need help on some of these lines
I think that a big part of the frustration is the "youth movement" that isn't seeing the best prospects playing in the 'Burgh. Why did the defense start to look so bad compared to October? I saw a list today, of the ten worst games by a defenseman, so far this season. Both Letang and Shea are on that list, for the same game…11/21 against Minnesota.
