Surprise Call-Up Kuntar Brings Good Vibes to Sabres Duel With Vancouver

Surprise Call-Up Kuntar Brings Good Vibes to Sabres Duel With Vancouver

On 12/11/2025 the Buffalo Sabres will take on the Vancouver Canucks in Vancouver. The battle will mark the first meeting between the two teams this season. In a surprise move, the Sabres called up Trevor Kuntar from the Rochester Americans to fill a roster spot likely vacated by Colten Ellis heading into the concussion protocol. Should Kuntar play, it would mark his NHL debut in his third professional season and first in the Sabres organization. The Sabres will be looking to win their second consecutive game and set themselves for an opportunity to escape the road trip with a .500 record. A loss would ensure a losing road trip, something the Sabres cannot afford as they continue to lose contact with the tail of the field in the Eastern Conference.

  1. ….i have a feeling that if Sabres do not turn this around and make play offs….then it might be Lindy Ruff’s last year…..I love Lindy hope they can turn this to wins…you know…

  2. Funny…I watched, Rob Ray, Andrew Peters and Craig Button yesterday on different podcasts and they all have different takes on this team. Peters said Powers stinks…PERIOD. Ray speaks praises of Pegula (his boss) and Button a former GM says it's all on the coach and coaching staff. Huh…

  3. The goals against would be far better off if Lindy would stop pulling the Goalie when down by a goal late in the 3rd . It's usually good for 2 empty net goals for their opponent . We will.probably see the rebound king UPL tonight because Lindy isn't good about guessing on how to win important games and get some points or chances to win .

  4. Chris I am so unsorted, and I don't know what to think when it comes to the boys. Winning the next (2) is within our skill set I believe that, but what we CAN achieve and what we normally achieve are often both very different outcomes. I've been watching most of the recent games at work so I haven't been able to get the best looks as I obviously cannot afford to give the game my full undivided attention. With that being said, I'll be home for the game tonight, I have all of my chores and errands done, a braise going into the oven and a nice bottle of bourbon on deck to enjoy a few cocktails whilst watching the boys tonight. Normally I'd say something about not wanting to see UPL tonight, but at this point I just hope that Lindy and the coaching staff put the best lines and players forward, if that happens to be UPL in their minds, so be it. I think I'm feeling good about this one, but if the bottom of the barrel Sabres come out thinking they are anything better than bottom of the barrel and shit the bed I might just throw up. Hopefully no one else ends up injured and broken tonight, but here's to it, Let's Go Buffalo. Cheers!
P.S. When this away trip is over and everyone is back in Buffalo, I hope there is some "shake up" or changing of the guards within the organization, think Lindy, GMKA, etc… Calling this guy up or sending that guy down or having that fella come back from injury isn't the answer and it's only putting band aids on bullet holes. We have done an "okay" job floating around .500 and we still have almost 2/3 of a season left. With some quality, bold changes I feel like the season might still be salvageable. Maybe.

  5. I agree with " stupid drop passes on zone entry". Fact is watching teams around the league they all do the same thing.

  6. who's the thing I never win when I bet on stuff or buy scratch tickets so I bet 20 bucks for Vancouver to win hopefully that gives the Sabres the edge lol

  7. I think Kuntar will bring a tad more speed to the 4th line seeing how Pass First, Last and ALWAYS Krebs is on the first line for now. I think Dunne is a decent 4th line guy but my goodness his speed can be measured with a sun dial.

Now what we need to see an improvement of is Quin being able to hit a puck with a slap shot, not have the puck ALWAYS jump over his stick and him being able to stay off the ice after someone bumping him with a feather. I have been calling him the "Quinch" in the holiday spirit because he steals any momentum the team has on a play EVERYTIME he sniffs a puck.

  8. Did you hear the rumor possibility that Adams is done by the road trip ? Hopefully we call Ostlund back up with Norris and tuch out . Rosen did alright last night , but kinda wish he was given top minutes like ost
